Hello all!
I've followed some posts and seen there is a kit offered for a ACR diffuer on non ACR models. Its still quite the penny, around $4500 without shipping. I have linked up a with a buddy of mine who makes custom splitters, diffusers etc and we would like to make some cheaper options. Instead of carbon fiber, ABS plastic. Trading weight for expense, I get it but not looking to track my GTS, just want the looks.
Would anyone be willing to share dimensions of their strakes/brackets? Perhaps close up photos of the setup underneath. Appreciate any help, thanks

If you just want the looks, just buy the strakes on ebay for $400.

Vipertoad on this board sells them for a something like $350 + shipping.
I'd personally like the ABS ones. The extra weight of maybe 1/2lb is in the best possible place lol. Also when I scratch them up they are probably cheap enough I wouldn't care. Same with a side spitter and front splitter; I'd like something inexpensive as it's a sacrificial part.

ACR-ISH has a kit for 1500 or so that is a replica of the ACR one. Not just the strakes, but the trays as well.

Some race cars use literal plywood.
Trace splitter (or whatever shape you want). Drill holes. Sand to make pretty (and whatever else you care to do). paint.
It will weigh a good bit more than your carbon splitter, but it's a hell of a lot cheaper.
I think they use acrylics too. Not 100% sure on that.
I'll probably do it with wood for this car once ACR-ISH starts making the kits.
I'll probably make and make an extension so I can have two lengths.
If you're really picky about weight and want it quick and easy, you could always make your own out of carbon/kevlar/whatever and just paint. It's a little more work to make the mold and then drill/trim everything, but once you had the mold made, it's probably $200 in fiber and epoxy and 3 hours of work.

Years ago I made some CF parts for the Gen1-2. Center console specifically. 10k Twill in the bottom and 3K twill on top. I was sick of the ugly console and the cheap plastic/pvc junk kept breaking. I don't have a Gen2 anymore but I still have the first one I made that wasn't a pile of crap. Lol. I made matching knee bolsters too but only used 1 layer of 3k it was stupid light felt like paper. I used hydro forming for my parts to keep the air out and make a very nice finish without the use of multiple coats of clear. I later sold the "company" as it wasn't making a ton of money and my Engineering job was (and still is) paying the bills.
I'd love start making parts again but I really don't have time.

Guys, I am just getting back to the forums. I had 4 owners that PM me already that day. I will take the highest offer. To be super clear, the diffuser is the piece that the strakes attach to, even better it is the large boomerang shaped piece that houses the reverse lights (which have been removed from mine). You can buy those strakes OEM or from Doug Shelby engineering. The part is located in South Florida, so it would be very convenient to be picked up during the NVE4 event. Shipping might be a bit pricey because of the size.

Hello All, huge thanks to Dennis for supplying measurements for all of the pieces. I was able to get a rough template going. Attached is a YouTube link of how it looks so far. I think it's pretty decent considering it's from scratch https://youtube.com/shorts/A2humRAYCW0

You wouldn't happen to have made an extra one you would be interested in selling.

Alright guys, have it all done up. The brackets will be in all black, I just wanted to see how everything fit underneath. Ide say to the naked eye and non OCD viewer, its spot on. Will be weighing all the parts to get an exact weight to see how much I have to lose :dude3:4747147472
