Personally, I think it looks great. While I liked the Gallardo for the first 2-3 years it was out, they look so dated to me now. When I toured the Lamborghini factory earlier this year, even the tour guide kept referring to the Gallardo as "The Ancient One", no kidding. The Aventador is a work of art, but doesn't get good reviews on how it drives, or how the single-disk transmission shifts. I've even got a couple friends that own the Aventador, and they think Lambo nailed the looks, but not the driving experience. Maybe this new Gallardo replacement will address those issues.

no, those doors are only for the v12 models

During the factory tour, they addressed that question. Only the top-shelf model V12 cars get the "Lambo doors". So, only the Aventador gets them.

While I think it looks good - for some reason it is lacking - IMHO Lambos should make you go "holy shit" when you see it and this just doesn't do it. Sure, I get a "wow" emotionally, I am sure in person it will be great. With DCT it will be a beast.

Hopefully business goes well enough this year I can think about buying one :)

it is ok, looks like a lambo/Ferrari hybrid. Not enough sharp angles to be a lambo.

I like it, but like the others said its not a game changer which all Lambos usually are. And is it just me or does it still look an awful lot like the current Gallardo just refined.

meh... it looks too tame to be a lambo... I personally like the Reventon... To me that's! a Lambo, sort of ruined all the rest of them for me.

I saw #12 at Lingenfelters collection during Woodward a couple of years ago... That is an amazing car!

The front looks like the aventador, the side like a murcielago and the rear like a Sesto elemento. The interior is very much like the aventador which is fantastic. 610 horsepower, push to start, new nav and dash and first time dual clutch transmission in all wheel drive are the big changes.

I received an e-mail today regarding my private showing which has been scheduled in late February. I'm guessing it will look different/better in person than in pics. That certainly was the case with the gen V

I have to be honest, that is one of the first Lambos I have liked since the Diablo. I guess everyone likes the angled Transformer look, but the subdued looks look very nice to me. I guess a lot want the hey look at me type car, I like the perfect lines.

While I in no way am a Lamborghini fan, this one is starting to grow on me. They have always had that " hey look at me" air to them, but in a nice subtle grey hue, that could be one of the best looking to me. I have always been a racer at heart, so I have followed the mindset to not wear everything I have on the outside, which goes against everything the Lambo stands for, but I am having a hard time not liking this car.

Lamborghini is hands down the best looking, sounding, driving vehicle I ever have had the privilege to own. It was one of the most reliable least maintenance exotic cars I've ever owned and had the best resale value of any car, exotic or not, that I've owned. The German engineering coupled with the Italian styling is perfect.

Waiting for the Huracan Spyder is going to be a huge challenge. I might just jump on the coupe.

I disagree. The market for Huracans is different than the market for Vipers. Big difference between the guy who buys an Escalade and the guy who buys the Hyundai Santa Fe SUV. The guy buying the Huracan is not concerned about paying his bills. The Viper owner is working and paying bills.

Most Lambo owners would never own a Viper..... it is " too down market" for their tastes ( key word is MOST)

Most Viper owners would never own a Huracan..... the payments or cost is above their means ( key word is MOST)

I wanted one back when they came out, but my son was born around that time and I just figured that I would pick up one used.... well that did not turn out as planned.

The only thing I found offensive on the Ford GT was that the lower rocker panel stripe was just a sticker and not painted on. Ford cuts corners at times. You could just pick at it and peel it off with your fingernails. seemed to me to be so low class for such a high end car. Make it seem kit car likeish. That would never occur on a Ferrari or Lamb, I assume.

Bugatti sitting on $85M stockpile of unsold Veyrons

Posted Feb 13th 2014 4:30PM AUTOBLOG

There may be trouble brewing with the supercar specialists at Bugatti. The French brand shocked the world with the Veyron when it debuted in 2006, but at eight years old, the hypercar may be getting a little stale to its wealthy clientele. What's worse, Bugatti insiders say a replacement is still years away.

Bugatti planned an initial run of 300 Veyron coupes when it went on sale, but the introduction of the convertible added an extra 150 cars to the docket. Generally, its cars have been built to order, other than some of its show cars. In December, Bugatti confirmed that it had sold its 400th car. Now, there are still about 40 Veyron Grand Sports to find homes for, according to Bloomberg, which amounts to about 62.5 million euros ($85 million) in product.

To solve the problem, Bugatti has devised the Dynamic Drive Experience that has the Grand Sport touring the US. It allows potential buyers to drive the car on the road and experience its raw speed on closed airport runways. The company hopes being hands-on with the supercar is going to move a few more of them.

Don't get too excited for a Veyron successor just yet. Even after the convertible is sold out, "I wouldn't expect an announcement for a couple years down the road," said John Hill, Bugatti Sales Director for the Americas, to Bloomberg, although there still might be some hope because the company's president confirmed that a future model is under development. Maybe Bugatti can surprise us again.

Btw they sold out of the latter, and when they debuted a couple years ago dealers got $100k juice on them which was paid without incident. Comes down to demand for the product

confidentiality-somsiality !! what's the big secret ?

Exactly it's been all over the web leaked for months but I guess post Geneva is their official disclosure policy. Honestly it didn't knock me off my feet; seemed much more evolutionary than revolutionary, and I didn't feel that way when comparing the Aventador on its debut to its predecessor the Murcielgo. But again I didn't hear or feel it in a driving sense, and suspect I only got 50% of the experience without a drive. Pretty sure the next time I'm in one ill be shifting gears down the roadway and it would make more sense to fully evaluate the car then.

What the Countach, Diablo, and Gallardo did for Lambo, this car does not. IMO of course.

As some have said above, the Lambo has a very high expectation to WOW the customer. The others did it, this one,... NOT !

Buy a used Gen 5 SRT and get the kit guys to put a Lambo body on it and PRESTO, your faster, can drive the car daily, low maintenance fees, and money left over for vacations for the next 10 years.

This car has already 700 orders with deposits put down.. must wow some people.. even after the gen 5 was revealed it didn't have that many
The car looks amazing and will sell just as much as the Gallardo did

Yeah and just like it wasn't really fair to judge the Gen V until seeing it in person and driving it, the new Lambo should be given that same opportunity before making a final judgment about the car.

Plus 700 orders in 30 days is impressive as there are less than that with 1.5 years on the 2013 Gen V; oh, and at double the price point.

And it gets better. 0-60 in 2.5 seconds. And a quarter mile of 10.4 makes it faster than an Aventador. Wow!

Test drove the hell out of thus dealer demo the other day. (Hear that dodge? I DROVE it. Your 84k car worth 30% of this should allow for it too) to be fair I'm no stranger to the dealer. Honestly I wanted to fall in love with it. Truth is I like it but not sure I love it. Strada mode was dear I say it, like driving just a car. Like as in simply for transportation. Not my idea of an exotic supercar. But change to manual mode and sport and it gets fun. It wants shifts at least at 6000 RPM'S. My Gallardo was comfy around 4000. Fit and finish was great. Styling evolutionary. No "Countach" feel to it. DCT was night and day smoother than the clunky e gear of the past. Keep second guessing whether it's refinement is excessive. Probably the year of viper driving that's in me now.

Looks like a ringer to me (wouldn't be their first one), i call flat out bullshit on that. 3400lb car with "600hp" trapping 135mph? LOL. no.

B-b-b-but car & driver said so. Heh. I think the test was a rolling start. I call BS too. It's probably low 3's. Aventador is 2.9. Why make the V10 faster than the V12 flagship model? It was still entertaining to drive it. Is it worth 270k? The jury is still out on that...

I concur. I think the car is striking, save for the horrendous panel gap between the hood (trunk) and front bumper.

If it were 150-200 loaded it'd be a no brained. But for 280k, you've gotta fall in love with it. Wouldn't mind getting one as second owner as a deal or maybe a deal on a demo but I don't see myself dropping that kind of coin on it Esp when lp640 Murcielago's are listed in the low 200's and are CPO eligible.

True. Luckily, there aren't many Aventadors driving around to park next to. LOL. Gallardos look more boring, imho.

Right. Ive never seen an Aventador in the wild. Not even at a car show or c&c. And they're going into their fourth model year.

I guess it just depends on where you are, i see them consitently, in fact about 4-5 of them routinely show up to our supercar saturdays meet, and I'm usually the only viper--go figure.

I honestly think the gallardo's are fairly mundane from a styling standpoint aside the facelifted superleggeras. The 04-05s with the square tails and non LP front end are starting to look very old indeed. Yet I can look at a gen 2 and it still somehow seems relevant to me, maybe I'm just bias.

The only Gallardo that can compete in the looks department is the later model Super Trofeo Stradale. I also agree, the back of the Huracan is boring. It needs an aggressive active aero setup.

Stradale is aggressive! I also like the performante variant. Lp610-4 needs some of that edge.

In sport and manual mode it's still a lambo. But in strada it's so damn refined. Esp with the dual clutch transmission. Felt like I was just driving a car. They put the sport exhaust upgrade on after I drove the demo. Sorta wish I experienced that as it might very made me like it more. Hardcore variants like superleggera and performante should be cool.
