Question Roll Cage In A GEN V?

Has anyone put a roll cage in a Gen V? In one of the many ACR articles I've read, one of them mentioned that a GEN IV cage should fit? I don't see how that could be possible.

I don't know of any Gen V street cars with a cage (or roll bar) but McCann did an awesome job converting a street car to a race car if you are heading that direction.

Gen 5 has a Gen 4 chassis with a number of modifications so I can see how such a thing could work.

Chris, you're keeping this for the street, correct? If so, I would just do a roll bar rather than a cage, ensuring the roll bar is sufficiently behind your head so that the seat can't flex and allow your head to hit the bar in the event of a crash.

    Two options:

TC Design in Campbell will do a custom one. They do most of the roll bars and cages in this area, very high quality work.

Ross Murray in SoCal has made rollbars for various Vipers, some of which he has partially hidden under the interior. Others are exposed and he can have them painted to match car color.

I'm definitely going to have a roll bar put in my ACR. Maybe we can find a place to do ours along with Lee's and Darius's ACRs, and get a group discount.

another prefix retrofit, that would be a hit

Roll cage on the street is actually illegal in many states. Can be very dangerous without a helmet. (as Venom V said above)

Putting a rollcage in a car you plan on driving around without a helmet is a terrible idea.

Sounds like possibly a new ACR-X in the works and the R&D will be done there.

    .

Count me in for sure! A bar will fit my needs perfect. A cage would be excessive.

There is a Gen V TA with a built in Roll Cage... looks like it goes through the tube where those 4" round rubber seals go...

Pretty sure that's a Ross Murray setup which is tied into the coilover upper mounts in the rear.

McCann Racing did a 6 point with side bars and kept full interior except for headliner. Work of art.

310-962-7658 Ross is in Marina Del Ray, CA., Don't give him a wake up call from the East Coast!

He does great alignment and chassis work too! (but not over the phone).

Minimal IMO. Mine is an ACR with carpet added at dealer, not a GTC so I'm not sure what diff might be with an non-stripped factory interior. I dynomatted everything once I took delivery, etc.

the reason I asked ? It appears to be a Roll Hoop. Did you run the Cage thru the doors and under the dash..
