My understanding is that the car has been with a "Friend" of Elite's for a few months and now the car is for sale at a great price.

As for the comments about our reputation, and what people read online about RSI. We haven't tried to hide that we had problems with our company and have had been going through a very public turn around. I constantly see negative comments about RSI from people that don't know anything about our company and have never had any sort of personal experience with us. The actual clients that do business with us are labelled as Nutswingers and attacked, or if someone posts a positive comment or review many times those comments are deleted. We have been made out to be the "Bad Guys" when we really were just the guys dealing with some issues. We have never run from a problem or tried to hide, we have always tried to find the amicable resolutions to take care of all the issues and only bring a fight to a problem when the fight is first brought to us. We had a significant back log that has been mostly cleared and over the past year have been on track with timeframes and builds. The quality of our finished work has always been of the highest caliber and it wasn't until recently that anyone even attempted to attack us on this. Many of these supposed quality issues are coming out of shops or friends of shops that are trying to get into the Viper market. Even with all the reputation BS that everyone wants to talk, we finish more Vipers a month than some of these shops have ever touched.

We finished the first Gen 5 turbo car in summer of 2013. Had a built engine car completed for SEMA 2013 and that car has been the highest HP Gen 5 on the road since then. It made 1100RWHP in 2013 and was converted to an Air to Water system earlier this year and retuned to 1300RWHP. It raced the Silver State Classic Challenge completing the 90 mile run within 1mph of its target speed and also winning the Mile event there.

The bottom line is that we have been on a solid path to turning everything around for the past year. It will still take time to clean up issues, but we will clean up every issue that we have caused. As for the new projects, we have been completing them on time and as expected with most turbo builds taking between 4-6 weeks. We won't be able to keep people from talking negatively about our company because we honestly created a big mess. We only ask that we are judged by how we have dealt and are dealing with those problems.

Sorry. Wouldn't go near it with a 100 ft pole. Not for 50G less. I have never heard of one happy RSI customer. Until a BUNCH of customers come on here and tell everybody how great things are at RSI and their cars have a ton of proven miles on them then I would change my opinion but so far I haven't read any positive reviews. Not to say there aren't any but if there are so many happy RSI customers why aren't they on here bragging up their cars???? Too many bridges have been burnt.

I'm sure it looks great but did you ride in it? For any period of time? In traffic? Have you ever been in a 1000 whp? Did you see it on a dyno to confirm 1000 whp?

LOOKS can be deceiving... Anybody on this forum can "SAY" they have 1000 hp. Actually making hp with a comma in the number and being able to drive it on the streets are two different things too.

(I am talking from personal experience and nothing directed at you personally VIPERPETE)

Yes he does. There's nobody better IMO. This is the first I have heard that John Reed tuned the car. That means that the car is using a Motec ECU, correct?

JR being involved speaks volumes as far as I'm concerned. I would think the car is legit knowing he tuned it. He does not and will not mess with half ass'd builds.

    Hello,
My name is SHELBY SMITH, owner of Elite Autos LLC. I see that several people have their internet Detective licenses here. Congrats to you all
Anyway, to address some questions and concerns about this car, I purchased it direct from the original owner. He did not sell the car because of any "issues" with the car. He simply had his sights set on another project and wanted to free up some money. Now, I can not comment on RSI's past or any other car they may have built, but I can tell you that this car is VERY impressive and has gone over 500 miles, since we obtained it, issue free. I personally have owned numerous 1000hp TT cars. Vipers, Gallardos, Vettes, etc and I must say this is one of the smoothest TT cars I have driven. The power comes in very early (little to no turbo lag) and is very linear all the way to redline. No weird tuning issues, doesn't run hot, etc, and the build is extremely OEM looking and very good quality.
To address the question of how many owners has the car had...., well, TITLE wise, the car has had NO owners. It was on MSO when we obtained it. We had it titled in our dealerships name, but a dealer does not count as a registered owner. We did deliver it to one of our very best clients, about 2 hours Southwest of our store, for about 3 months, but it was merely on loan to hold him over till we finished his TT Ford GT that we just delivered to him. He is a big collector with numerous cars and is very very particular about all his cars. This car is not hurt at all. It has clear bra, which we installed on it when the car had 150 miles on it. No rock chips, no road rash, no nothing. I welcome anyone to come inspect it and I will gladly take you for a ride in it to show you. We have absolutely ZERO to hide.
So please guys, I ask that if you have a beef with RSI, please take it up with them directly and do not Internet bash a car that you have absolutely zero first had experience with. Anyone that knows me personally or has purchased a car from me, knows that I am as straight up as they come and I tell it like it is. Anyone actually interested in the viper, I invite you to come see it. If its not exactly what I say it is, I will pay whatever travel expenses you paid to come see it. Not sure how to be more upfront than that.

    Thank you,

    Shelby Smith

    Bingo...

Time will tell if things are turned around.
I hope RSI is on the rebound. We can always use a good Viper vendor

I don't think any one was questioning ELITE or their reputation...? It was the car itself in question.

Maybe things are turned around. Good luck with the sale Shelby....

TooBlue, it seems you have a bone to pick with RSI. I am not here to get in the middle of that and am by no means trying to change your's or anyone else's opinion on RSI as a company. I would however appreciate it if you would take it up with them or with a thread that is asking about them as a company. This thread is asking about my particular car in question. I honestly don't know anything about RSI's history as I have had no previous experience with them, but I do know my car and I do know its a top notch car. I will say that Will at RSI reached out to me when he found out that I purchased the car and told me if I had any questions or concerns, that he would be happy to help me in any way that he could. I have not had any other tuners of cars we have acquired throughout the years, do that, so that was nice, but that is about the extent of interaction I have had with them.

P.S. I just noticed your most recent reply TOOBLUE. Thank you. We have nothing to hide and our doors are open to anyone interested in the car and we also welcome any inspections.

Bottom line is you guys should have done some research before investing that much in a car. If you would have done ANY research you would have seen the many issues with the shop that built the car and probably would have passed on the car altogether. You would have seen how many engine they were going through and how many customer cars they couldn't finish cause they just kept fucking everything up. You would have found www.rsifraud.com and the many nightmare threads on other forums started by customers. Now you are stuck with the car having to defend it and the shop that built it. You are in a no win situation because you are now stuck with a car you overvalued that nobody actually wants. This is going to be an expensive lesson for you guys.

JR did not do the actual tuning as we have a great tuner in house, but co-developed the fully integrated standalone system with him. The cars run Motec M1 in a full standalone with the factory ECU in the car. The dash functions work flawlessly like you would expect with Motec products. The cruise control works and the launch control buttons and ESC buttons on the steering wheel control the Motec Launch and traction control. They are even integrated to utilize the OEM Display info to tell you what is going on. The check engine light doesn't come on because the other 14 modules in the car outside of the ECU are happy thinking the Motec is the factory PCM.

JR has been a part of our development of the Gen 5 platform since day 1. We also know more about forced induction on the Gen 4/5 engine platform and capabilities of this engine that any other shop. It's easy to see when our cars like this TA are making over 1000RWHP on 9.5 PSI. Some of the other running cars out in the market from other shops are running 13+ to make the same numbers. The red Gen 5 that makes 1300+RWHP at 15 PSI and both cars are running Precision 67s.

We will have no issues selling the car. Its only been advertised less than a week and we have had multiple interested parties. As for researching the tuner, I can come up with plenty of negatives and unhappy people with just about every tuner out there today. Obviously some are worse than others...., However, I am more interested in the car at hand than the tuner that built it's past negative experiences on other cars. I am by no means defending RSI, but I am defending my car and what it is. Like I said, there are better places to have a grudge fest against RSI then on a thread asking "WHOS CAR THIS WAS". No where on the OP post did they ask about a background history about RSI which this has obviously turned into here.

Also, this "rsifraud.com" website you referred me to does not exist. I tried to pull it up. No such website....

Please don't go sounding self-righteous and do no wrong. If you have nothing to hide, why didn't you speak up on your Facebook page when I replied to your orange TT video? I posted the video of the customer taking his car away from you in shambles....instead all you do is block me. If there is nothing to hide then surely you could reply with a logical explanation without this BS you spout. I am hoping that people see your reviews, and don't give you a cent. It is called Viper owners looking out for each other.

I think you are being a typical forum poster, now. Not the pleasant kind. As I posted, this is a respected dealer, on the same order as Woodhouse or Tomball. If he couldn't call up the site, that is a COMPUTER or Smartphone problem or a mistake. Don't assume a good guy is "pretending".

The site does work now, but it honestly didn't earlier. I tried it several times.

And guys, I have no desire to get into a debate about RSI. Simply stating our car runs perfectly and is a very impressive build.
