What is the best 0 - 60 and/or 1/4 mile anyone has on the STREET on regular tires. AND how'd you do it?

Hahaha, I see what you did there......
I was screwing around the other night trying it out, and with dusty roads I had to work with, I could get around 4 seconds bogging the car a bit. Hero attempts were rewarded with uncontrolled wheelspin. I sucked, but it was fun for a few attempts I made.
I very seldom race anyone from a dig, and it shows... but then again, I don't roll on the highway either.
Not meant to launch... Im gonna figure it out one way or another, may cost set of tires but I can't stand not feeling like I can bitch slap anyone that's pulling up next to me at a light. I live in a small town. The only thing that could run with me is my buddy's SLS black series and his turbo s... with that being said. Had him in the viper for the first time a week ago. He was grabbing for the o shit handle and asking me not to kill him!
Only way to launch the car if you will is to 2500rpms quick release almost like dumping clutch, no clutch smell when i do that. Nets a whopping 4.0 0-60. car's gears are too tall and car bogs until 3500rpms.
ESC on or off?
Who's stupid enough to try a real 1/4 run on the street?? Like enough Vipers haven't been wrecked already.
With that being said, I won't lie, I still get the odd urge to try out the launch control (for the first time) when I have some clown eyeing me up at a red light.
I was just noticing on my local cruise night this past Sunday, how fast cars are getting these days. With higher horsepower than ever right out of the box, there is still no shortage of built engines and aftermarket turbos and superchargers roaming the roads. Luckily most of us are willing to drive out to the dragstrip to take it off the streets.
Hahaha. Last time I checked, 60mph was still legal in a lot of places.....
But I agee, full on quarter mile attempts on the street wouldn't be terribly clever.
