First Official Photos of Targa car

VOA has the first official photos of the Prefix Viper Targa car. Prefix, who paints the Viper for Dodge, will modify your Gen V Viper with a removable targa top that can be stored in the trunk. With the top out, you get open air cruising. Hardly any wind in the cabin and no air pressure in the rear hatch compartment. Conversion cost is $9995. For more information, contact targa@prefix.com.

I'd like to see some pictures of it like one would see it in person.

These pics from a person seem to tell more of a story. The pics above are taken at some really harsh angles that you would never really see in person; flat on the ground and from 20 feet above.

For the looks of the first pic the back is taller than the front, not sure how that's going to affect the wind inside the cabin.

It's almost as if they're hiding something..

Looks great from certain angles....but then again so does a butter face. Great idea, just needs a redesign of the rear glass and trunk to look right. The Ducts make this a hard mod to execute with existing conditions.

Curious as to how the top is fixed into the trunk. Having never owned a coupe, I'm not familiar with that area of the car. Is it somehow clamped down to the trunk (to prevent any jostling) and is there any room left under or around it once placed in the trunk? Can't imagine you'd ever want to place anything on top of it.

It does make for a somewhat new "exotic" look to the coupe.

Looks pretty good to me. For all the armchair critics, please let us know what you would have done differently while keeping the price reasonable.

Funny the difference that various angles makes.

Those earlier pics were a bit rough at best. These look intriguing. I think this will require a walk around video to get the feel of it.

As I posted in the other thread, I give them a lot of props for this effort, love it or hate it, Prefix is really trying to serve the viper community. And to do a job like this on a 6 figure highly limited production car for $9995, that seems very reasonable to me. It's just whether the lines work or not for your individual taste. My jury is still out considering the good pics above, and kinda nasty pics from the other thread.

It wasn't going to be for me, no matter how it looked, but what surprises me the most is the complaints about the price. Seems to me there's a lot more to it than taking a sawzall across the roof...... The targa roof produces 4 edges that have to be finished, a new headliner, weather stripping, paint.

I highly doubt Prefix could attract the type of talented staff you'd trust with your car for 15 bucks an hour.

That color combo is just f'ing fantastic! The targa top on the other hand... well... It looks OK, but some angles not so great.

    Very cool!

I can't stand the coupe rear on a convertible so this is a big winner.

I don't think it looks as bad as people think it does.

I really, really like it but not for $10k. Very nice option, though.

Boy they were ready. Like I said, we need a vid and boom, there goes the dynamite. I'm liking what I see in the vid.

I agree...it's growing on me, but I would need to see in person to make a final decision...
