yes, you look at your mileage and at around 5,000 miles you change your oil. That or once every 6 months
LOL. You guys are funny.
no oil life indicator as far as I know
I really wish we had an electronic dipstick though
A low oil indicator would have been a good idea and possibly saved a few owners a lot of grief.
Sure, you should know enough to check the oil now and then but some Gen V cars were burning a couple quarts in less than a 1000 miles. Ridiculous.
My 2005 SRT10 has a low oil light...
Ok since this thread went sideways, I can add the following:
When I had my oil changed at the Dodge dealership ~ two months back, the Viper Tech said he reset my oil life indicator. At the time I was thinking, huh, I never knew my car had one. Since then on two separate occasions I tired to find it on the dash or Uconnect etc. with no success.
So I am starting to wonder if the Viper Tech was Bsing me or not?
Call me old school but I like to peep in there every few weeks for my own sanity. Way I see it, they hacked UConnect, can't trust technology too much!
The owners manual would have mentioned it if it had one.
Well I guess next time I am in there he will have some splainin to do.
Has anyone watched the dvd that the viper comes with (it's located in the owners manual)? In the dvd I have, it says there is a oil change indicator and gives instruction on how to reset it. I'm currently at 9k miles and have already done my third oil change and the "oil change light" has never come on for me to reset.
I can confirm that depressing the gas pedal slowly 3 times within 10 seconds with the car in "Run" does absolutely nothing.......dough!!!
