    1993 Viper Dash Issue

Anyone else with a Gen I have dash issues where it fades out and cracks or peels? I found this place in southwest Florida that took my entire dash piece and refinished it with carbon fiber. This things looks brand new. I'll put up a picture as soon as it gets installed.

Hate to bust your bubble but that is not carbon fiber. It is a paint dipping process called hydrographics. Even though it is not real carbon fiber it still looks pretty good. I had mine done in red to match the color of my car.

Looks good. Some of the angles distort the lines of the film a bit. My dash needs to be refinished and trying to decide if I just refinish factory, do this dip or do a real carbon fiber finish. Not sure of the cost differences. What did this dip cost?

Do you have a picture of this on your car now?

Anyone else look into a real carbon fiber wrap and who does them? Costs?

I was thinking that it might work well to have the dash done with hydrographics int he factory color. I see lots of stuff wtih skulls, camo, etc...I wonder if a factory type color could be used?

This. And a wrap with real carbon fiber is to some, still not real carbon fiber. I's your heavy factory part made heavier with something pretty and lightweight.

I may be crucified for saying this, but Duplicolor has a crabon fibre look paint. I saw it on Roadkill and it looked pretty good once he was done with it.

It's pretty sad that the Viper has gone from being a performance icon in the world of automobiles, to a Pep Boys and JC Whitney DIY project car.

I don't think so, you won't catch me Dupli-coloring fake carbon. I would like to put real carbon or at least real carbon wrap on might if I can find the right supplier.

Yes, absolutely they can match factory color. They would just need the paint code.

Thanks! I've seen real carbon fiber distort as well, so I think it's an issue with the precision design being matched to the angles of my parts. This guy is in Florida, but he can ship throughout the country. You can try giving him a call and ask him about pricing. I would assume it depends on the condition of your dash and whether it's cracked, faded, or both. His name is Richard. The place is called Revamped and his number is 239-234-2712. Even with some of the feedback I saw from this, I am still impressed with the final product and can't wait to get it installed again! I'll put up some pictures as soon as it is on!
