Hey Paul any chance you get a race between the two of you?
Missed this. Yea I'm sure Eddie and I will get a run in. Should be a closer race now. I would hope.

Wow this thread is the start of something incredible.
Cant wait to see these two cars run!

    Paul,

I'm ready for you (I think! LOL)!

Clutch is broken in and new tires go on the car today.

I was doing some final tweaking on the dyno last night (I was also trying a new/diff tire that couldn't hold the power-which I will fix today...) and kept violently spinning the tires on the dyno at 5K RPM at 12 PSI (just under 900 RW).... Definitely going to make over 1,000 RW at this boost level (12 PSI) when I can actually run her all the way out to 6500 RPM. The plan is to run boost by MPH up to 16 PSI in the next week or two.

Sounds good bud! The guy installing the kit can't start until next week. I'm also waiting on wheels and tires. Once I get it all done I will let you know. If you keep your power around 900ish, it should be a good run. If you go 16psi over 1000whp there would be no point in racing lol.

    Paul,

I'll keep her turned down as long as I can! Lemme know when you get your new shoes on, bud!!

    Will do!

900whp nitrous car has out ran 1000hp turbo cars.

Junkie, I've certainly heard that same conjecture... I guess I'm willing to find out if those TT cars truly made the advertised power. I seriously doubt it.

I've put Nitrous on a Gen V (300 shot) and it was absolutely not as fast as a Gen V on 12-13 PSI.

I understand you have one, too. I'd love to get a run in!

Maybe bringing an E85 kit to market would be a good idea. Easy power there.

    donk,

Help me understand what ya mean?

E85 and Gas TT kits is what I do.

Just wondering what is needed to run E85 on the Gen V. Thanks

    Viper04,

It's often debated, but I upgrade everything (except the hanger) in the fuel system. Pumps, lines, regulator and injectors.... Could you just dump E85 in, upgrade the injectors, tune for it and have it run like a scalded dog? Sure! But these engines are too expensive to build a half-assed solution to have E85 destroy it in a few months time.

Could you share an image of IATs logged vs engine rpm during a dyno or street run?

  23. #48
    rlhay2,

IATs are, for the most part, irrelevant as this is an E85 build and we aren't maxing out the efficiency of these turbos... At 1,000-1,100 RWHP these turbos are well within their efficiency range and the E85 sucks the lion's share of the heat right out of the charge.

Ed--whats' the turn around time and cost to get a TT set up like yours? Could you do a flex fuel deal so it can be ran on E85 or pump with out having to re-flash?

    Kris,

It takes me 4 weeks start to finish to give you a turn-key TT Gen V.. Base kit starts @$27K and goes up slightly from there depending on options. Unfortunately switching from the pump gas to E85 tune takes about 2 minutes with with HP Tuners... No way around that.
