Guys, I am almost certain there is an ACR-X in development. I have seen numerous, and I mean numerous references to it and I think this quote just seals the deal.

"Maybe a good evolution to the rumored ACR-X that may or may not already be testing? Did I type that out loud?"

There is which means I'll finally want a Gen 5. FML, I better start saving my pennies.

That was a great video and review.

Can somebody answer this?,.... when removing the fender vents over the front tires less lift, you actually remove the "finned" cover entirely exposing the top of the tire? I couldn't figure out what I was looking at in Andy's video at first. Now that is extreme.

I am completely cracking up as Andy Lally has listed on this video , World's Fastest Vegan Driver. Randy Pobst is also a vegan, so pretty funny they seem to be smack talking each other a bit in this area. Great reviews from both, which is cool , since Lally is a GM contract driver and Randy has not always been a fan of the Snake. Of course Randy could just come back and give Andy is due, and say, " Sure he is a fast Vegan driver, but I am the fastest Vegetarian ,ha,ha!"

    Yup, you remove it entirely.

I found this picture last night, with the sun creeping through the hole in the fender...this is one of my favorite pics! Can you say BADASS?

Those that spend time on the track , also realize, that given a year or so of guys fine tuning the Extreme , the times will come down even farther. I have to admit , letting loose a bunch of journalists at VIR showed a lot of confidence from Dodge and they are to be commended. Fun track, but as you observed , not always one that is forgiving and fantastic to see and hear your laps. Keep it up and don't stop posting!
    Thanks, Bill!

I won the last race the auto media "industry" organized back in 2009. These days staff writers are too scared to sign a release accepting responsibility for crash damage.

Was told that the new ACR isn't really like the old one where you could drive it on the street without issue. This new ACR is a bonafide track machine. Not recommended for street driving at all.

    Why ?

Because it has huge aero (that can partially be removed for street use) ? Because it doesn't have a big stereo or sound proofing ?

This ACR is a modified Gen V but certainly not to a point where it cant be used outside the track. If you wanted to you could build it as a 1 of 1 and throw anything on it to make it as friendly as you need it. It's just a matter of options

I'm in line and my car will be used on the street 100%

Don't care what you think....I just want to own the baddest street legal car available on the market !

I've heard that it's going to be a particularly unforgiving ride on the street as well. Take a look at the pics of the suspension. I don't see the rubber bushings that all other models have. That's going to ride rough and noisy. For track guys it won't matter. But if Joe Schmoe decides to buy this car because he read it's the most bad ass race car he can afford he's going to hate how that translates on the street. Me personally I love it and hope some day to add a gently used one to my garage next to my TA.

Too low. The splitters will drag. Also was mentioned that the exhaust could drag. The suspension isn't daily driver. No one said shit about stereos or the wing.

I'm off the ACR train and going TA. But honestly good luck to all who street drive their ACR. I mean that. Not being a douche.

She's got a height adjustable suspension, could always crank that bitch up like pre-runner! lol

In all honesty, it looks like all the cars are set up pretty slammed, but then again, some guys on here do that to their street cars, could always just raise the ride height up the standard Viper height, remove the splitter extension, should maneuver over speed bumps like a TA then..... well a TA with a cement trucks suspension.

I don't think the TA splitters would make it into my driveway either.

GTS-R Blue with white GTS stripes is working its magic on me. Must resist changing color schemes again, Paul would not be pleased LOL

I'm convinced Paul is gonna hate me by the time my car comes. I had the Silver black and red as my original order and changed it to the gts-r blue. I'm not sure the change has gone into affect yet but I have a von and vin # already.

Just saw Lally's vid. Nailed it. That's the kind of raw honesty and no holds barred reporting that automotive journalism is sorely missing. No political correctness. No BS. Just straight up track rat talk.

Jalopnik, hire this dude for all your track-worthy car reviews!

This car looks good in so many damn colors it will drive you nuts! It's a sickness...now I can understand why some of the board members own multiple Gen V's. I am having dreams of owning multiple ACRs in different color schemes. Not good!
