The GRM UTCC is run on the normal course configuration that most are races held in. C&D are the only ones that use the Grand Course that i've seen.

That was my thought too, so is a 1:56 good, need something to compare it too.

Proper response, "Don't be a pussy. Tail wag is just the Viper's way of waving bye bye to the cars it just passed on the straight."

    Automotive journalism:

Article on C7Z "car is awesome so fast perfect" last line "oh yeah it blew an engine"

Viper: "so uncivilized it just can't be driven except for tracks." Intro then "fast as shit and holy crap awesome"

    Such bias

That probably a record for a production car. Anything under 2 min there is fast, even in a race car. Bens fastest lap in his X is 1:56.6 but, that was before the repave and the widening.

The top cars (Lussier, Hartley) were running 1:53's at the NARRA Grand Prix last month in the Comp Coupes so this is fast. The other thing is fast and VERY BRAVE to be getting that out of the car with no cage, seat, harness and just a seat belt.
    Big cahones.

Just read though all the posted reviews and I have to say that I have never seen as much Viper enthusiasm from the journo's than I have today. You know Dodge is doing something right when the Viper sees that level of support from reviewers. KUDOS Dodge!

Did not see an answer , but the Carbon Fiber x brace is not the standard brace , the metal one is. You can order the Carbon one, but one has to figure with the 2000 lbs of downforce and lateral gs , there is a reason they chose the metal one for standard equipment.

More is coming as mentioned and nice to see journalists back drooling on the Viper !!

Now I think I want the GTS-R blue with white stripes. Starting to like the dual stripes over the ACR stripes.

I hear you, that's a bad ass combo. I have never been so conflicted on a color, so many great combos. I tend to lean towards GTS stripes but both styles are wicked

    Agreed

A member here logged a 1:57.xx in his '09 ACR on that "Full Course" that they're posting times for. He then ran it in his TA, and although he didn't get a clear lap, logging showed he was running parts of the track faster in the TA. The 2 plus minute times are for the Grand Course as previously mentioned, which adds an infield section of track in the middle of the back straight.

At ViperDays last month we ran the "Full Course" (http://virnow.com/track/configurations/) which was 3.27 miles with 18 turns, no infield. This is what the TT group and races were running that weekend as well and that must be the course Ben has the GT3R 1:46 time. That's really damn impressive for this configuration. If this ACR is near that time or the TA for that is under 2 minutes on this course configuration then WOW.

From our friend Randy P at Motor Trend:

    http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/..._drive_review/

I'm pretty sure Dodge has asked that no times be published, but I could be wrong.

    Overall, pretty awesome responses!!
