Anyone removed driver seat and put in a race / other seat?

Anyone ever remove their stock driver seat and put in a race seat?
I have a nice race seat I had in my Cobra, and am really thinking about putting it in the Viper. Might help with my head clearance and allow me to adjust the seat as needed. Obviously I will need to make a seat bracket etc, but that would be my Winter project.

Anyway, anyone ever do this on a Gen 5?
Also wondering about the weight of the Gen 5 leather seats too?
    thks

Let us know if you find one that fits. Haven't heard of any yet. Best, Allan

I can help with the weight. I took mine out to put in a seat lowering kit. It's the leather/alcantara, and it was 63 pounds if I remember right.

The seat lowering bracket will work for you a lot easier than trying to install another one. We'll have to let you test fit mine again........ on August 15th, the day you bring your Viper to the track

The stock Sabelts are already pretty minimal, at least compared to the previous SRT seats found in my 03, and still the current R/T and SRT LX/LY cars.

Let us know what you find, and if you like them.

LOL, my legs are too damn short... my legs relative to my body size, are pretty close to the proportions that a TREX shares with its arm length.

I can't wear my helmet in the car the way it is now, so we are looking at the FRS at least once more. Well, unless you loan me your Gallardo

I can weld up a decent bracket as I did it in my Cobra and the seats I have are light at ~ 20lbs and comfy. Might look a it funny though, but I am pretty sure I will end up doing it anyway.

Could always bolt the seat an inch forward, still using the lowering kit. Still keep them nice GTS seats.
