Official 2016 Viper ACR - who's ordering what thread!?

Now that the flood gates are open and all packages are available, I would like to see what other members are ordering or planning on ordering in terms of color schemes and packages. Curious as to how many are trading in their current Gen V's or coming from Gen II, III, IV platforms and also who might be coming over from the other manufacturers (Porsche, Corvette, Nissan etc.). Let's see how many P-car folks we can convert to the new king of the track!

Rumor is there are floods of new orders coming in so post up your details!

    My Order:

    Color: White
Stripes: Black center band with red drivers stripe

    Options:

Carbon Fiber exterior and interior package
    Carbon Fiber X brace
    Extreme Aero Package!

Ordered from: Bill P. at Woodhouse.

    I joined the bandwagon:

    Adrenaline Red
    White GTS Stripes
    Black interior with red stitching
    Extreme Aero
    Carbon X-brace

    Paying tribute to this...

    Todd,

That is going to be a badass looking track machine. Are you going to sticker it out or leave it clean? I actually think a stickered out ACR paying tribute would look kinda sick!

That's a great question, I woke up this morning contemplating the same thing, lol. On track days I will be wearing the 93, and I will emulate the ALMS markings. I may just slap the Dodge and SRT on it as well, it's pretty clean and not over-stickered as compared to most race cars. I will be driving this mostly on the track any way, aside from an occasional Viper gathering or Cars and Coffee.

Trying to visualize, might not be as bad as originally thought.

Not that I would purchase, but might be cool seeing drive around a track!

I thought about that, but I think the silver with the single, red drivers side stripe look's best on my current ACR..

Lee, a teaser of your car with stripes. I like with and without, tough choice. However, I'd do black/black stripes like this, rather than black/red stripes...

Yes the big ,wide center stripe looks great. Even two separate stripes going down the middle like the ACR you're ordering is real nice too. My other favorite combo is black with two silver stripes down the middle..

I've found red to be a very easy color to clean after a track day as the rubber marks to be removed show easily, and it doesn't show swirl marks. The marks aren't nearly as obvious on the black TA so it still looks good after a wash even if you don't have an hour to remove all the tire marks until later...and you have to be really careful removing them when you do so as not to scratch the paint. So I'm kind of digging the red for an ACR like Todd if I went the ACR route, but I'd still be tempted to go black with the fairly subtle carbon/gray center stripe, and probably a red driver's strip for the WOW factor. Too many great color choices though so glad I'm not faced with that decision at the moment!

That's why no stripes for me. Going to spend that money to have the whole car clear bra'd ( wrapped) with Xpel film . Which is going to cost about $8k to $10k.. A must if you're doing track days.. I have the whole front half completely wrapped on my 2010 ACR. Rubber chunk marks are a breeze to remove off the film with a bottle of this stuff the shop gave me. No rock chips no scratches ever to worry about.. Washing the car after a track day is a breeze too. Just use a squeegee to dry off the car..

It's a good feeling knowing that the paint underneath is still brand spanking new!

8-10k for a clear wrap?? That's crazy man I had 90% of my 2015 Duramax clearwrapped for 3k and it's huge. A full clear wrap shouldn't be more than 3, maybe 3500 max. Clear it the easiest to do.

I had a bad experience with a shop that did a custom job on my 2010 Z06. Price was cheap, but the installer left razor marks on the paint. The seams didn't look good too. Luckily the shop that I take my cars to now. Was able to buff out the marks, and the marks were light.
The shop I go to now is called Premier Protective Films. They're in Fremont. They are a bit pricey, but have an excellent reputation. I also had them do my Gen 5 Viper, and they did a great job tackling the big clam shell hood on that car.. They wrap the rear wing too. Car needs to be at the shop for 5 days for a full wrap job..

    Lee,

That is the exact shop I used for my TA. Only shop I could find that was reputable to attack the SRT hood. One other reputable installer didn't even call me back because the last TA hood he did was such a PITA. Looking back on it they did a good job but they are very pricey. I might try another shop on the ACR.

I have to assume the hood is the reason price isn't cheap. Can't use one piece + the curves in it aren't easy to work around.
