    Parts are apparently available for door handle recall

    I just got off the phone with Preet, the service manager at Willowbrook Chrysler in Langley, B.C., and she says the parts for my door recall (R14 I think it is) can now be ordered, and will be there for me by next Monday when my car goes in to get all three recalls done. I haven't received a letter yet, but I would think it is forthcoming. She checked her computer and that is what it is now showing, whereas previously, it showed "parts not available."

    No problem

    According to my dealer there is no recall. Where's the face palm emoji.

    Show him the letter!

    I'd rather fall out the door than let my local dealer touch my car.

    Lochness, they must have felt sorry for you with all the fires and extreme smoke you have up there right now. Damn smoke made it all the way down here to Colorado and caused health scare warnings the past two days. Pretty bad here, so I can only imagine what it must be like up there.

    Hey Coloviper and Dman, perhaps it's time to reconsider your responses????? This is the best emoji I could find.

    I hear ya. It's not really an issue of me worrying about the recalls in terms of a failure, rather, I am the kind of person that doesn't like "loose ends." If and when I choose to trade this car in or sell it, I don't want the same trouble Lawrenzo is presently having. Taking it into the dealership to have the recall issues addressed makes perfect sense to me, and any negative consequences are a calculated risk I am willing to take.

    This for me as well. My issue is that the door panel separation needs fixed, and since the door panel is off (coming loose) they can do the recall while they're in there.

    What are the 3 recalls? Seems to me the seat was one too...but the dealer wanted quite a bit of time to do the seat.

    1. Track position sensor (related to airbag deployment);
    2. Door node reprogram (smart glass);
    3. Door handle (unexpected opening when wet)

    Are you hauling your car all the way to Willowbrook for service?

    Well it is a nice drive anyway. I'd have to say though, if their service department is anything like their sales/delivery department, I won't be bringing my vehicle back for anything there. 1200$ later and I finally had the paint repaired on my brand new car they delivered to me. Fortunately the non functioning stereo at time of delivery was just a blown fuse.

    When are you coming through? Might be a chance to meet up with a few of us on your way. My Uncle actually lives like half hour away from Willowbrook, I'd even consider making the drive down with you just for fun and to visit family if I happen to be off work.

    Wow, sorry to hear about your experience with them. I am going to give them a shot. They seem to be the most familiar with the Viper in the lower mainland, so I figure they are as good as anyone. If they f#$k my car up in the slightest, well, I didn't become a lawyer just to fight other people's battles.

    On a brighter note, my son and I will be leaving Meadow Lake at about 3:30 am on Friday morning (he is 14 and stoked for the road trip, so cool). We should be coming through Edmonton by about 8:30 am, since I have to take the long way around down to North Battleford due to the shitty roads between here and Lloydminster.

    That sounds like an awesome idea if you and anyone else are up for it. We'll be driving straight through (I usually get to Lions Bay for supper). Could be pretty fun. The drive gets good West of Jasper for sure. Just have to watch out for those B.C. cops. Out here in SK they will pass you if you are doing 130km/hr. Out there, well, lets just say I got a one week "time out" about a year ago in my STi just outside of Valemount when I was clocked doing 186 km/hr while passing a bunch of cars in my STi.......ouch. That sucked............................ In SK, they probably would have given me a warning and said, "BTW, nice car".

    Well my response was fun and more to say sorry for the fires up there. Not sure I need to reconsider anything. Must have caught you at a bad moment or something.

    Nope, not bad moment, I just didn't like the suggestion that I didn't know what I was talking about, or that the dealership "felt sorry for me". I guess it felt like my intelligence was being insulted, particularly the "face palm" comment. Not a big deal.

    PS: The fires have caused the evacuation of my Court Point in La Loche, so in a weird way, they have actually helped me: no one there to commit any crimes, and we aren't flying up there for trials tomorrow....yeah!!!!!

    The problem with that is when the door pops open by itself it doesn't trigger the time out for the interior lights so your battery will go dead. My car was the subject of the TSB that caused the recall and SRT also had to buy me a new battery. I'm glad to hear the parts are now available so I can get the other door corrected.

    Thanx Coloviper, appreciate it. I'm really looking forward to it. The whole "father son" thing in the Viper. I don't think it gets much better than that. I'll post back the amount of time it takes for them to complete the recall work so those of you looking to get these issues addressed know how long you need to set aside out of your day.

    Interesting. Thanx for the insight into what exactly is going on with this. Cheers.

    The part number needing ordered for the recall is CBAFR141AA It does not show that it is available in the ordering system as of yet. You can order individual door switches, but not the recall package which is needed to cross the recall off the list.

    SSD Order ETA: Not Applicable

    Mark is right. I called my dealer back, and although the status of CBAFR141AA has changed from "parts unavailable" to available for order, they are "back ordered". Thanx for clearing that up Mark.
