    BBG Shorty Headers

I'm interested in BBG Shorty Headers and i would like to know if any gen v owner have installed them on their car and could give some feedback in regards to gains etc. I searched and came up with only this thread in the gen 3/4 :

    Thanks

What does Toddy not posting in over 5 months got to do with his headers ?

I gave him a call and he was there and talked about his headers, I just want to know if there is a gen 5 that its currently running his headers.

To me, that says a lot. Do as you wish.

Toddy is good at talking. You a have a very simple set of questions for toddy:

    1. How many are installed on a G5

    2. Send me your dyno graph please.

That will allow an informed decision, he was trying to sell me a set over two years ago and that was while never having built a set.

My only input is that when I talked with him at NVE last year he showed me the gasket for the collector and one section was so thin a strong fart looked like it would cause it to blow. Maybe he's changed how the pieces come together but I doubt it. Ask him to send you a pic of that gasket and make your own call though.

    Gaskets

We use a high grade vermiculite/ceramic/stainless steel gasket for our BBG modular race headers. Gasket material is extremely important and commonly overlooked, so during our header development we consulted with the exhaust gasket pros to spec the correct material for our primary to collector flange. Our header flanges are cnc'd milled for trueness and don't require a gasket in racing applications but regardless a gasket was needed to be produced. An interesting point about our stout vermiculite/ceramic/stainless steel gasket is that it actually expands just a bit under extreme heat and promotes a better seal.

A thicker fiber metal mess or the older fel-pro style gasket does work well when surfaces are not milled to exact tolerances and you need to compensate for surface differences, but can also deteriorate (blow apart) under extreme use and fall apart during service intervals. We've all had or seen this happen before with these types of gaskets.

Any questions please contact me directly - Toddy @ (916) 505-9026

GTSilver - when we're done with fabrication I'll get your BBG Shorty's off to Jet-Hot for thermal coating and then over to Andy at Viper Exchange for your Arrow head and cam upgrade. Appreciate your business!

    Thnx

We can surmise about how the gasket looks. I can tell you that it doesn't leak or fail. I've been running it on mine for about 2k miles now.
