    2016 vs 2013

    I currently have a 2013 GTS and am considering trading up to a 1 of 1 2016.

Other than custom colors, are there any other changes since 2013?

Also, is the Viper experience included with 2016 models?

    Thanks

    Yes it is included.

I think build quality has improved dramatically from 2013 to 2015 - but thats my own opinion.

I have a '13 GTS as well and am also planning to upgrade to a '16 ACR of some sort (haven't decided yet on if I'll go the 1of1 route). I know one thing that was added in the 2014+ cars and that's the 5 mode electronic stability control. The major benefit I see in that is the "rain" mode.

The 15+ cars have standard alcantara coverings on the lower dash and door panels, which looks really upscale. Body panels and gaps seem more consistent on the 14+ cars.

I have only sat in one car, which was a 13 GTS with Laguna interior. I cannot fathom how anything inside the car could have improved in terms of quality. 13, 14, 15, or 16... can't go wrong.

Some early 13s (like mine) have a couple recalls, and my passenger door panel keeps loosening (warranty issue Ill have taken care of when the door handle recall parts are available, 2 birds with one stone). The door panel thing is annoying, but other than that LOVE the car! 14s and up got better QC, I think.

I look forward to seeing your '13 on the market. It has one of the best paint schemes on a Gen 5 that I've seen.

Yes. I have yet to identify where improvement could be made.

The 2015's and newer have a numerically lower 6th gear (like the old cars) because some weenie complained about a drone in 6th (I don't ever hear it in my 2014). The higher ratio 6th gear is still in the TA's and I'm sure will be in the ACR's when they come out. For me, I LOVE the higher 6th gear. It's useable and you can pass and get to the power without having to downshift.

I have a 15 with the new (or is it old?) 6th and a 14 with the old (or is it new?) 6th gear. Live in Colorado, huge state. Western roads are wide open, little traffic, higher speed limits and I gotta tell you the 6th gear in the 15 is a much, much better gear for out here. Hands down I prefer it to the one in my 14. I like to shift so downshifting to 5th or lower to pass doesn't bother me. Mind you the rear end is still a 355 so it isn't like 6th in the Gen 4.

I think that each driver likes what he likes. For me, the 2014 gear is far superior.

Just realized that the GenV is in the 4th model year already ... Time flies.

Thanks Ron! It's actually not paint though; it's a full wrap. I had it wrapped as soon as I got it so the paint is perfect underneath. When I sell/trade it I'll let the purchaser decide if they want me to have it removed or keep it on.

I fully agree with you going from my 14 to 15 this is a huge improvement. I'm no longer spinning 2500 RPMS cruising on the freeway.

Charlie, I was thinking the same thing. That's more than the Gen 4s, and the same as the Gen 3s.

During the shutdown in 2013 they introduced a panel gap measuring robot which could ensure much tighter fitment between the panels. Early builds could be quite variable, but the latest stuff looks really good.

I hear ya... I'm always looking for 7th gear in my 14. My 98 is the opposite extreme.

Obviously I'm partial to blue, but I love that metallic/pearlescent white with the blue stripes.

Does that blue car have stripes? Hard for me to tell.
