Why not going with the heads&cam package with free install if it's going to be essentially a track car ? She would be rev angry.

This is a great thread, juxtapose the enthusiasm of this thread to the black theads from 2013 and early 2014. The support for the ACR says everything about the viper community.

I want to keep it reliable. Heads and cam on the road course is tempting but it would require a rebuild more often. I had a lumpy cam in my Camaro and it blew up on the road course. It's hard enough to make a track car reliable. I do, however, see headers and a tune in my future, once warranty runs out

So true, it's a great era to be a Viper guy and people have finally come to grips that it's the real deal. My coach last weekend is a professional driver and drives a variety of very fast high dollar race cars. He was blown away at my Viper, he said it does everything amazingly well. People tell me that he's honest and hard to impress, so this meant a lot. He had never driven a Viper before and was running low 1:36s within ten minutes behind the wheel. Given more time he would have been in the 1:34s. That's wicked fast at Seca in a stock car.

What's also amazing is the opposite vibe in the Corvette world, but for good reason. There was a C7 Z06 at Laguna Seca last weekend. In the morning session, the ambient was only 68 F. He came in from the track to the paddock in limp mode. We looked in his coolant reservoir and it had boiled much of it's coolant out, leaving little globs of stuff in the bottom of the reservoir. He said he hit 267 F coolant and 309 F oil. Yikes, I would have come in long before those temps, but he drove it until it limped. There were two other guys that overheated their Z06s at Buttonwillow on the third lap just the week before. Sad day for the Corvette track rats. Being an engineer myself, I simply cannot believe that the Corvette engineers released the Z06 as is.

Exciting decision, Todd...congrats! That's awesome news. I can't wait for the track reviews and owner feedback to roll in. Hopefully Randy will get his hands on one at Laguna Seca to show the performance difference at the limit. Going to be costly when you factor in a new outfit or two for May to go with the new color scheme!

Bruce! Thanks man, really excited. I predict Randy will do a 1:31, maybe even a 1:30 at Laguna. I have no idea how that man runs the lap times he does, he's a freakin road course god. May looks good in red, haha. Although I don't see taking the ACR on too many road trips, it will mostly be in my trailer to and from the track. I will keep the big splitter in place, dampers stiff, and slammed to ideal tracking height, whatever that is. Looking forward to picking Erich's brain on set up.

With the weather getting nice, get out there and live the dream! I want to see one of your entertaining tracking write ups soon, bud. Hi to Deb from us.

Thanks, and I've been tracking for weeks, including yesterday! Running at the front with the fastest, and so much more left in both it and me according to data-logging. Going to be an awesome summer!

I think the new ACR tires are the big unknown at this point, but if they are completely up to the job I think Randy may clear 1:30 with relative ease.

Happy tracking, and give our best to May.

The enthusiasm is contagious, and coincided perfectly with Gen V. The new ACR will take it up another notch. Viper Tracks 2 is going to be EPIC!

As for the new ACR at Seca: let's get Chris Winkler back out here, and he and Pobst can see who's gonna run it fastest...

How about having Kuno, Chris and Randy compete? LOL, guaranteed that with the pressure of competition, one of them would pull a 1:29 out of their hat!

    Nice, whats the specs?

The extreme aero became available to order a lot quicker than I thought it would, I thought they were indicating Aug/Sept

The Extreme Aero came available far sooner than any of us realized! Same is true for how quickly the banks opened for regular ACRs. Very exciting time for Viper

Congrats! I'm forcing myself to wait until next year to get mine but at least I'll get to see yours up close before then.

Nice combo!!! I thought about that one too, along with Stryker Orange. Although I wouldn't do a Stryker color for a track car, too hard to do a partial repaint.

My order is officially placed with Paul Normandin here in San Jose:

    ACR
    Adrenaline Red w/White GTS Stripes
    Extreme Aero
    Carbon X-brace

    Woo hoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyone know what the interior options look like? I think I want black/red but don't know if that's just red accents and stiching. That's all I want, mostly black.

Also, anyone know what ACR seat belts are? 6 points? Or just a bright red 3 point, like as has always been available?
