Going to get an ACR with extreme aero

Well I had so much fun last weekend at Laguna Seca that I've decided that I'm going to add an ACR to the stable.

I'm now running 1:37s there and don't want to beat on this beatiful Stryker Red GTS any harder. I will write up the story after the photographer gives me the pics. I'll keep Halle Berry for wine country and weekend getaways. Back to the ACR...

Here's what I'm thinking, once ordering opens up. This car will be 90% track / 10% street:

    ACR
    Extreme Aero
    Carbon X-brace
Red w/White GTS Stripes (livery colors in tribute to Kuno, Jonathan, Tommy and the rest)

That's it, basically a hardcore model with one mission- track dominance. I cannot wait!

That car will look bad ass. Great color scheme with the nod the IMSA title winning cars and the Oreca cars back in the day. I also think that combination of options is the best bang for the buck on the ACR

I am going with this exact combo + carbon fiber appearance package and white with black and red drivers stripe as pictured in the reveal. I cannot wait to say the least!

Todd, nice meeting you! I'll be getting a ACR also. Look forward to tearing it up at the track with you one day.

That will make a nice stable. Awesome you can keep both.

Nice. Were I getting one that would be my exact color choice for similar reasons. It would be nice if I could add a plaque with the Oreca and VE/Riley team drivers names or even more special their signatures, mounted on the car somewhere.

Before ordering, it would be good to see some concrete numbers on the brake upgrade...especially if one wants to achieve "track dominance".

Awesome choice. I started out with a similar options list, then I added it up and was like,

Even with the coupon, poor kids are gonna be on their own for college, lol

Darius, it was a shame I ran out of brake pads before you were on track, I would've enjoyed mixing it up with you. Buttonwillow Oct 16 - 17 with Speed Ventures, I'll send out a NorCal Viper Club invite. Are you on our email list? if not, PM me and I'll add you.

PS- I watched your vid of the hot lap with your mom as reluctant passenger... Hillarious! She was pretty freaked out.

The "standard" GTS is so damned track worthy, I can only imagine how dominant the ACR will be. I doubt anything under $900K will be able to keep up.

I hear you, I'm undecided on the CCBs. I see that if you do the 1 of 1 program, you can forgoe the CCBs. But after pricing it out both ways, the 1 of 1 costs too much. So I've decided to buy the non- 1 of 1 ACR and try the CCBs, use them until the rotors and/or pads are worn out. Then decide if I want to swap in steel brakes or keep running the CCBs.

I'd like to drive Buttonwillow. I've only raced there on a bike and a few laps on a go kart. Send the info to Darius240z@yahoo.com I managed a 1.36.5 on sunday. I have no idea where Randy finds 6 seconds. My car seems to understeer alot and it's hard getting it out of the turn without it wanting to go sideways. I tried different tire pressures, didn't seem to matter much. Maybe the lowering caps affected the handling. I never got it aligned after.

That's flying! Randy is a freak of nature, LOL. I wanted to throw my fresh R7s on and was gunning for a 1:36 too. As for understeer, my money's on your alignment as the culprit. A re-alignment to TA specs, but with -2.8 degrees front camber would do the trick. The Viper engineers encouraged me to do a bump steer check through the full range of suspension travel as well. Turns on a dime. Custom Alignment in Mountain View does all my alignment, they are track rats and know how to do it right.

Buttonwillow's a fantastic track, and as you know lots of runout so if you goof there's low risk of car damage. The repave about a year ago increased the grip significantly.

I just got this email about an unlimited sound day at Laguna Seca on October 31st. Apparently the Ferrari Racing Days event is cancelled and opened up a spot. The weather might be a little iffy, but worth consideration. Looks like they are trying to get a commitment on the number of potential drivers. I wonder what Monterey is like Halloween night??

"Interested in Saturday, October 31st with
    UNLIMITED SOUND
    at Mazda Raceway?
    If so, read on.....

    Hello TMR members,

Yes, UNLIMITED sound means UNLIMITED. Not 92db, not 103db! TMR has an opportunity to have (2) run groups of an event on Saturday, October 31st (Halloween) at Mazda Raceway. The TMR groups will be either (2) Advanced groups (one for race prep'd cars and the other for non race prep'd cars) or (1) Advanced group and (1) Mixed group. Format depends on your feedback so check your calendar and reply asap with your interest.

Unlimited sound days are extremely rare and they're also extremely expensive, so that's why we're reaching out to all of you for your interest level. Review the following information ASAP and then let us know via email if you are IN or OUT.

Format: 4 group format with 2 of the 4 for TrackMasters Racing Members Only. As mentioned above, our preference is to run either (2) Advanced groups - one for race prep'd cars and the other for high performance street cars, or (1) Advanced and (1) Mixed run group. The final format is entirely up to who expresses interest and how many of you are 'A' drivers.

Cost: $400 is the target cost for the day

Number of Sessions: Schedule hasn't been developed yet but typically you can expect at least (5) 20 minute sessions.

What do to if Interested? Email us immediately at tmr.trackevents@gmail.com and let us know the following:
    1. I am committed to attend this event (Yes or No)
    2. What Level Driver are you?
    A1 = Adv with Race prep'd car
A2 = Adv with Street Car
M = Mixed Level Driver (see website 'FAQs & Forms' for Mixed definition)

We will review feedback over the next 2 days and send another note out with our final plan. REPLY QUICKLY as this track has car count limits per run group and when we run out we run out!

Please note that Registration is NOT open yet. We need your feedback before we finalize the format and open Registration.

    George,

Normally I'd jump on that but I've got my kids that night and Antonio and Natalia would not forgive me

Plus, here's my tracking schedule around that time, pretty busy. I'm hoping you can join me for some of this:

10/17-10/18 Buttonwillow with Speed Ventures (NorCal Viper Club invite will be sent)
10/24-10/25 SCCA race in the Mustang at Thunderhill
11/27 Laguna Seca unlimited dB event with Shelby Club (NorCal Viper Club invite will be sent)

    Todd

Thanks for the info. I'll give them a call and setup a appointment.
