I know this has been discussed before, but i have a 14 SRT which has 12 speakers. Has anyone with the 12 upgraded to the 18? Is the price worth it? Thanks.

Hi Alan
I did the upgrade a few weeks ago. I noticed a marginal improvement ......there still is not enough sound volume when listening to satellite radio.
For $500, i mean i guess it is worth it but who knows. It sounds better, but not blow your socks off better.
Satellite, AM/FM, or connecting via Bluetooth are all marginal signals that do not sound good at all. If you want the best sound, get a smartphone or ipod, burn all your CD's onto it, and use the USB connection on the console. That will sound MUCH better. Most modern cars no longer have a CD player, so the USB/MP3 route is the only way to achieve good sound quality.
Thanks for the advice. If you were to do it again, would you? Also, how much did the dealer charge you to upgrade the software? Thanks. Alan
Hey Tony,
The dealer tech did mention something to the effect that he did a software update to improve the volume from the Satellite radio....But I did not notice a difference.
In comparison....the Satellite Radio volume in my 2014 RAM Sport is much louder?????

For $500 I think it is an on the fence thing. It will sound better, but it really isn't some high end system you'd find in a Rolls Royce still.
It is better. $500 better? I am not sure. The $500 is surely better than the $2000 factory price though
I have upgrade-itis, if I know I can upgrade something I feel compelled to do so. I'll probably do this over the winter.
It's an improvement. Only you can decide if it's worth 500 bucks.
For me, it was worth 500 bucks to replace the block off plates in the doors, with speakers and speaker grilles, once I realized that was what the space was for.....
My TA has a radio?!?!? Wow, anybody know what I should ask for it on eBay?
