    How Much Coolant in Overflow?

Can any tell me how much coolant it takes from empty to safe area in the overflow tank?

My tank needs to be removed and scrubbed...something I'll do in the fall. There's just too much going on right now to tackle that project now.

As you may have seen in a previous thread, my overflow tank was full. The sight glass was stained and hard to read....it appeared right in the middle.

I siphoned out the overflow tank tonight, and removed 2.5 quarts of coolant.

Does anyone know how much it takes to get it in the safe area?

There's 2 overflow rad tanks. One inside the front bumper fascia and the other bolted to the inner fenderwell on passenger side.

If you're referring to the front hidden tank ... It would be a good idea to remove the body bolt under the tank and grind the tip so that it's pointy end doesn't stick up an inch towards the collant tank. Several people have had that bolt lift up when the front bumper flexes and pop a hole in the bottom of the tank.

Um. Grasshopper. BZZZZZT, try again. The tank under the hood is not an overflow. It is the surge tank. And seeing as the OP is asking about the level in the overflow tank, I doubt he needs a lesson in where it is
