Hey guys I just got back home from running the tail of the dragon last weekend and my check engine light has come on. Its a code P0300 Random Misfire. I spent the next 2 day s trying to find what is causing it. All my spark plugs and spark plug wires are new as of this year. I do not have a vacuum leak anywhere witch makes me believe its still electrical. I took off my throttle bodies and cleaned them and noticed the driver side intake manifold its full of OIL! I cleaned it all out and reset the ECU. So far it is running very well with no more misfires.
Has anyone else had this problem? Do I need to instal a catch can to prevent this problem form happening again? My car is a 01 ACR

You might want to do a compression and leakdown test to see what the state of affairs there is.

Agree with Dave. Where is the oil from?
You should have seen the passenger side spark plugs being dark brown or black from burning the oil? On my car the passenger side 02 sensor crapped out (with no codes) and all my passenger plugs were dark. I changed the plugs and 02 sensor and the car is getting better mileage and the plugs are pale again.
I had Chris Jensen remove the misfire code program from my PCM because I have a Roe blower and the short intake ports cause the engine to run rough constantly setting off the misfire codes. Before that I had a 1996 PCM in the car because that year didn't come with the misfire code program (emmissions crap).
