Just Bought One - What's it Worth?? Please help??

    Hi everyone,

I just purchased a beautiful 2001 Viper GTS Super Snake and would love to know it's actual worth...the only problem is that I don't know who to talk to or where to go to find out.

Can anyone point me in the right direction??

Here's a few details on the car...

    * 2001 Dodge Viper GTS Super Snake
    * Custom interior with 5 point harness belts
    * Has/had nitrous...was removed to be made street legal in Ontario
    * Dash says "1 of 75"

I'm going to try to attach some video and pictures and would really appreciate any advice from anyone!!

    Thanks in advance!Viper.jpgViper a.jpgViper b.jpgViper c.jpgViper d.jpg

Actually a question better asked prior to purchase. Attach the purchase price as well.

Isn't this a question you should ask prior to a purchase? Congrats regardless.

Someone here will know which tuner "produced" the "Super Snake".

He is obviously a car dealer, not an enthusiast. "What's My Viper Worth to Sell?"

He's not going to be at your next local club event

263.... that was built by a tuner who is long since out of business. It's worth about what the stock viper is worth. Got documentation or just the sticker on the car? Maybe bring a little more but most seek a clean stock viper. Nitrous is really hard on the motors bottom end, good luck.

1 of 75 could be that the tuner intended on doing 75 but went out of business after one. And without knowing who built it, a deep, deep inspection is in order, especially with that nitrous. I mean, if it said built by "Dan Cragin" or someone like him, it wouldn't be so much an issue. But as far as no one knowing who built it, I would be leery.

No, I'm not a car dealer. I purchased the car as a surprise for my husband and it was a very quick decision in doing so because it was a VERY low price that anybody would have jumped on because it had to be sold ASAP for circumstances not worth sharing. Unfortunately my husband does not fit comfortably in the car because he is very large and finds it extremely uncomfortable to drive...and I have no interest in the car as we have 2 little girls that won't be able to drive in it.

I'm asking what it is worth to sell because I have no idea what it's worth and I am interested in selling it. It's a beautiful car but I know nothing about it so please stop jumping to conclusions.

I have no idea who or what a "tuner" is...I had a dealership print the "build sheets" out for it, so I do have those.

I came onto this forum to seek information about this car and to get some advice as to whom I can contact to find out what it is worth...not to be made to feel like I'm wasting your time and space on this forum.

Note of advice..."Always ask questions about the situation before just assuming the worst"...

If anyone can help me...great...I would really appreciate it...; if you want to post negative unhelpful comments...go to somebody elses thread...

Thanks in advance to those that can actually point me in the right direction.

Thanks for the info...I will see if I can find anymore info in the car about this.

As far as the "custom interior with 5 points." Know that 5 points were stock on the ACR. As were adjustable Koni shocks. So if the ACR badging was removed (IMO a dumb thing to do) look for other signs that it was an ACR, which helps. The nitrous thing changes the 'whats it worth' question considerably though. Just know that. Some people won't touch a car that had nitrous run through it by someone they don't know.

Good luck with selling what you bought without knowing anything about what you bought.
"He" should slim down and drive the SHIT out of the car. IMHO!
    Turn on the nitrous...btw

I don't need "luck selling what I bought without knowing about what I bought" because although I may not know a lot about Vipers, I do know that I got a fantastic deal that anyone would have jumped on and bought and I also know that I will have no problem at all getting back what I put into it. I'm interested in selling it but I'm not going to give it away...I'm well aware that it is worth way more than I paid for it...I was just hoping that coming on to Viper forum, I would be able to get some helpful information on where to go to find out it's actual worth...and FYI...you are "assuming" again...my husband is not overweight...he is very tall and broad.

I think I did more research buying my gf shoes than you did buying that Viper lol. Lucky husband though, and if he loves Vipers, he shouldn't let his weight get in the way, I see a hell of a motivation now. Look into seat lowering kits as well if he's 7 ft tall

If you must sell though. Post it at $60k, and work your way down to what you bought it for. It really is worth what someone is willing to pay for it, and how much of a hurry you're in.

keep it coming baby! I like your way of thinking sorry for soundling like a jerk! May be I am one ...your husband is "broad"? A Viper is not made for wide guys. He better drives a Hummer!

Don't listen to this guy. He is trying to get your goat.

Listen, most people here are asking you these questions or jumping to conclusions because there are many things that effect the value on these cars. It is not as simple as year and mileage. Though those things of course make a difference, but there are so many other factors. I can see the mileage and you said the year. How about a few more photos of the custom interior. Also, you said you had the build sheet. A photo of that would be helpful too as it would help us ascertain who built it. From what I can see, the vehicle looks pretty good. For example, the engine compartment looks pretty good. Usually abused vipers have an ugly looking motor compartment. This one looks like it was cared for. Obviously it's not a guarantee but it makes a difference.

A little few more pictures and any information you have on the build would be extremely helpful in determining the value. I, sorry if a few people turned you off here. Most people are actually quite helpful but we occasionally get jerks on here posting just to mess with people and I think a few members were worried that you story didn't add up. Please don't take it personally. Now that you have explained the situation people should be more open to helping you find a good value. I think a bit more information on those things I mentioned would be helpful. Also, what area are you in? Because we may know the tech who took care of it and that would help too.

I'm sorry it's not a simple, straightforward process. But these are low volume cars where little things can change the price or desirability to a noticible degree. Custom work can be very hit or miss. People can either love it or hate it. The key issue will be how it was built and maintained though. So the build sheet should really help.

Good luck and I will keep an eye on this thread to see if I can help you in any way.

I'm aware of the basic Viper goes for...my reasoning for asking on this forum is because of all of the extras that it has on it. I'm in Canada and it was built in the US. I'm in no hurry to sell it. I was just hoping that somebody could help me understand and see if there was any value in all of the extras that are on the car. It's insanely fast (700hp) and I didn't know if that made a difference from the stock ones.

Thank you thank you thank you...I appreciate your help and the jerks on here don't bug me at all. I do have a video that my husband took of the car and I will see if I can load it because that video shows a lot of detail that the photos don't. The car is in excellent condition and we have had it to a mechanic that serviced it top to bottom with no problems at all.

The build sheet is the original Dodge build sheet but I don't think that it shows any of the custom work that was done on it. I will snap and post some pics of it.

We are in Toronto, Ontario. The car is US but was imported to Canada.
