Got to have some fun today

Summit motorsports norwalk raceway hosted a great event this weekend. The "Super Summit" featured an enormous cruise in, quarter mile drag racing, a small road course, and monster truck Bigfoot. Best part of all everything was free! At first I was apprehensive to do the road course because I have only drove my car a couple thousand miles so far but it was a great experience. One of the instructors liked my car so much he actually rode with me and helped guide me through. Never thought I would get into racing but it seems that track events like this are the only way to experience your car pushed to the limits. My best time in the quarter mile was 13.67 @ 111 but I spun the tires the first 50 feet! Here are some pics of the road course

Nice!! Looks like a great time. I've enjoyed throwing the car around some corners in a couple autocrosses as well. I can see where that can be very addicting.

VOA Ohio Region has rented the whole track (North and South) for the entire day. We will have instructors there to go out with you on the track if you wish.

A course like that is a great learning experience, especially for a new driver, and it's pretty consequence free cause there are just comes to hit in a worse case scenario.

Sounds like fun. And say what you will but dammit I love monster trucks. Probably because I never grew up.

Yes, definitely sounds like a blast. Jeff - are there any events like that in our neck of the woods?

Occasionally I think local motors (the company who makes that car called the "rally fighter" off the freeway as you leave phoenix does one in their lot. Been a while since I heard of them doing one though.
