Replaced Battery and now Check Engine Light is On

    Hi all,

I just replaced the battery in our 2009 ACR and now the check engine light is on.

    Is this normal?

Normal...the light will be for some sort of timer related to the battery. It'll go out the next time you drive it.

    Thanks for the help.

Just drove the car to the end of the drive way and the light is now off.

They should put a warning label on the battery cover.

These PCMs are overly sensitive to pretty much everything. I guess that code was put in place to plant a red flag that someone might be trying to disconnect the battery to clear emissions codes, but I'd think the drive cycle readiness tests would be a good enough indicator of that.

The CEL comes on for something called "Engine Off Timer", whatever the heck that is.
