Where are people getting the Pennzoil 0W40 from?
Or are you using Mobil 1?

Went to M1.
Mobil 1 for me. A lot cheaper in 5 gallon jugs at Walmart.
M1 15-50
I found some at autozone. Only place I could find locally that sold it.
X2 for autozone...
If you buy enough of it your local autozone will start stocking it. The comps will recognize the demand and automatically order it for the store.
Mobil 1
Pepboys has Pennzoil Ultra. Their online store has 30% discount and free ground shipping for purchases over $100.
I found the Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 0w-40 (as recommended by manufacture) on amazon prime with free shipping for $48.74 for the 6 Quart case X 2= $97.48 This breaks down to about $8.13 per QT. I ordered on line and it was on my front porch in 1.5 days. Hard to beat that type of service..
I have gotten the factory fill Pennzoil for our 2014 at a local Viper-friendly Chrysler dealer...club discount makes it cheaper there than at AutoZone.
Got the factory fill (Pennzoil) at my local dealer
Anyone ever use Reline or Brad Penn?
Does Mobile 1 meet the minimum require specifications that are required for the Gen V engines? Someone told me the Pennz Ultra meet the new specifications and that was why the Vipers have that instead of Mobile 1 now.
Iv been running Motul 5-40. Thinking of switching to Amsoil tho. Thoughts.
I've used M1 5-40 Turbo Diesel. Never had an issue, knock on wood.
I went with Castrol Syntec 0w-40. Seems like all brands of the oil in that weight are labeled European Formula.
I've read pennzoil ultra is up there with amsoil and royal purple as far as best motor oil. A lot of this is backed by tests done by independent labs submitted from the users. I use amsoil myself for my current car. Hopefully by the time I get a gen V, there is someone well versed in what oil variant I can use, (daily driver, track use, garage queen, summer driven, etc).
I think that a good way to choose an oil is just try it for 50,000 miles and then tear down the engine and see how it did.
Or just choose whatever some other guy on the forum used that didn't blow up his engine in 3000 miles.

Mobil 1 does meet the spec. Look in your manual for the oil req and then look at the specs on M1. I wanted to use M1 anyway and could not find the Penn locally. I went the extra step and called SRT to confirm the M1 was ok to use and would not have any warranty issues. My previous 4 Vipes all used M1 with no issues and I am sticking to it.
Valve Cover Fill, says: 0-40w full synthetic. Lots of good choices..
