    Gen 5 Viper Vs GTR...wondering

Today while cruising on the local ring road highway in town I had a grey GTR come up on me from the fast lane and he wanted to race. I never obliged him, but I am wondering with all things being equal what would have likely happened from a 40 mph roll?

Depends on his setup and yours.
Stock on stock you would be faster if you can row the gears proper, but they have a fair amount of upgrades, so that may change the out come.

A buddy of mine just bought one. He's stock, I'm stock. Were gonna race soon. I've driven them WOT a bunch of times. Doesn't "feel" like it holds a candle to a Viper. GTR is 500lbs heavier, 100 less hp and tq. They do produce startlingly fast E/T's tho.

Both being stock, if you drive it good you should win. Most GTR's around here are full bolt-ons on E85. Thats good for a mid to high 130mph trap.

This was my old gtr with full bolt-ons on E85.

Now to put things in perspective. Here is a GTR set up like mine, against my viper with bolt-ons.

And here is one set up the same like mine was, but running no cat back and weight reduction.

Stock to stock...Viper should pull off a win every time. Just don't lose it between shifts.
