I really wanted a First Strike handle, but the Viper Store wants almost $170(including S&H) for one. Kind of ridiculous IMO.
Not really interested in swapping out the entire shifter. Just want a shorter handle.
What are my options?

I love my ACR handle. Much better than the stock truck shifter.
Here is the 2010 ACR handle in your old 2008 Viper
Thanks for the ideas. The ACR shifter is a possibility.
I've been running the shortened ACR shifter in mine for a few years...I wanted the OEM look, but not the telephone pole length.
This is the first '08 that you bought that was ko'd by the dealer. I got it in a trade with Wayne from Tenn. 2 years ago. He told me that it was your car, and what happened to it. It's a small world, as I remember you from the SRT-10 forums when you had the Black truck. I had an '04 Silver one that I sold to get my first Viper, an '09 ACR.

I guess the stealership conned their ins co to total it, then they either sold it, or repaired it and sold it. I don't know how many states or owners it has been through, but here in Alabama, it has a clean title now! I'm sure carfax would show everything, but I haven't run one. Looks like it had a rear knuckle, rear wheel replaced, and right rear wheel was repaired, as was the front bumper cover. I had it up on the lift here where I work, and it looks like one of the belly pan pieces came from a wrecking yard. But the car drives and looks good, and it only has 16,000 miles on it now.

Almost forgot...here's a picture of the ACR knob:
Not sure I have a picture of the original telephone pole installed.
That actually makes me feel a bit better.
IIRC, I thought one of the side sills was screwed up as well, but maybe it just required a repaint?
Anyway, glad to hear the car is treating you well! I miss the 'Light Arc' instrument bezels that car had.
My 2nd VR '08 is another story. I traded that car on a '13 Shelby back in 2012 at a local dealer in PA. It somehow ended up in south Florida and was on e-bay for like 6 months. Eventually went to Chicago and was purchased by an individual in the next town over from me(all said and done it was moved around for about a year before it came right back to my area). It took him a few months, but he managed to total it. Pretty sure that one is dead.
