Eibach springs and bump stops

I think that I have read all the positive and negative and how to posts on the Eibach springs. I wanted to lower my car to get that "right look". I have seen some describe the ride as being like a pogo stick. I recently installed these springs and lowering caps. The installation instructions call for the bump stops to be shortened 10mm (3/8"), which I did. In all the posts I've read I haven't seen anyone mention this step, as it requires taking apart the top of the shock cut the bump stop and then reassemble the shock. Have some people changed to these springs with out cutting the stop? Is it necessary to cut the stop? Is not shorting the stop the reason for the pogo stick effect? Just curious?

I have put about 200 miles on the car since the spring and cap change and have nothing but praise for the way it rides. Thanks to John B for the caps and my Nascar buddy for hooking me up with the spings (aka free).

The pogo stick behaviour may be associated with the fact that you are virtually riding on the bump stops. You have little to no travel. Once you cut off 1/3 or 2/3 of that bump stops, you will allow an extra inch of travel. The ride will be softer I am sure.

That's my thought, I cut the prescribed 10mm. I have never seen anyone talk about this step when they changed the springs.
