    Transmission making a howling noise

So a few weeks ago while driving ive noticed that my transmission started making a howling noise. Kind of hard to explain the noise but I hear it whenever I drive the car, no matter what gear or what mph. I did some research on the forums and heard that it may be the rear end. So to make sure, I changed all my fluids in the rear end. Well, its still making the noise. I originally thought it was the transmission since the noise is coming from the transmission area, and still think it is. Anyone have an idea what the noise can be and how I can fix it? Ive heard these cars can be very noisey to begin with but this is pretty loud. I can hear it over my exhaust and its getting quite annoying.

Does it change pitch as you increase speed or just rpm. Does the sound go away if you push in the clutch?

Also, is the sound there only under load (as in if you lift off the throttle does the noise go away)?

How many miles on the car?
