Cool Bolt on GEN 4s are still nothing to sneeze at even after all these years! **VID

Was proud of the cars performance last weekend at Runway Rivalry 2. Finished 2nd in 'B' Class, out of 32 competitors. The last "race" was pure disappointment.

A,B,C classes, rolling 60mph start, 1600ft of acceleration. Breakout speeds were 3mph over the highest index for each class. Highest trap in B class was 146.7mph, thus the break-out speed was 149mph. B Class traps varied from mid 130s to upper 140s.

I was trapping consistently in the 142-144.xx mph range. My highest trap was 146.7mph. Traps would vary depending on how far into the launch area you were when the lights went green. The longer the distance, the higher the trap.

Awesome bud! I should have been there with you. What were the stock and Bolton gen V's and other gen IV's trapping?

Thanks for posting that video, I enjoyed it. Looks like you have that gen 4 dialed in pretty darn good. Some quality driving to boot.

Awesome job, Alex! You represent the Viper group very well.

Alex, you drive the viper mainly on weekends right? Do you drive it to work every now and then, maybe Fridays?

Always awesome to see you car kick ass!

Thanks for all the positive comments!

I felt like I was robbed on that last pass but it is what it is. I think the car would of taken the trophy home if we would have actually raced.

Andy I don't know what what the stock cars were trapping (as I was usually on the track when they were running and couldn't see the traps), but I believe Kyle was also trapping consistent 144s, and Thomas did great in his stock G4 and trapped 138-140.

I believe the key to my success was actually what I initially perceived to be my greatest weakness; the fact that I had to shift to 5th to clear the traps in the last 100ft. While all the other G4 and G5 guys could comfortably ride out 4th gear, with the new 3.55s and my rev limiter at 6450 I just couldn't stretch 4th to the end. At first I was pissed, but then I realized that the momentum lost in that last 100ft kept me from trapping 3-4mph higher and being put into the 'A' class (where I would've been eliminated in the first or second bracket without doubt). For example on my last race with the Procharged/meth C7 vette, you can see I was pulling him on the top end and he was trapping 147-150mph.

Nice run and thanks for the strong Viper representation. Is that Kyle's viper next to you? How did he do?

Great runs Alex. I am most likely going to run my car at the half mile. Hopefully I can make a run with the wing on then without it if I can find someone who will let me put the wing in their trailer while it is off the car. I am curious to see how much it slows it down.

Yep, that is mine next to Alex' car.

I was running very well. Trapping 142/144. Went into my race to move into the semi-finals, and for the most part it was a lock on my end. I missed third gear twice and it all went away. This new tranny was very hard to get into third smoothly when I got it, but has not been an issue at all lately. Never had issue at Texas Mile. Just bad driving on my part. Gave away my spot. I think I had a very good chance at winning Class B. I was really looking forward to it being Alex and I in the final. Next time...

Also, I was going to pull the spoiler off the back Saturday night....had I made it into the semi-finals. I am figuring that spoiler is worth 3mph under 150mph.

Runway Rivalry is a GREAT event. This is my second year, and I highly suggest it if you have the time. Dallas Racing and Texas Speed Syndicate guys are top notch folks.

I have given the picture below the title, "Well, There's Your Problem Jackass."
