Show us your custom painted helmets

    Hi all,

We have all gotten used to showing off our cars and anything else we think is cool including our cars, trucks, pets and girlfriends/boyfriends.

How about showing off you custom painted Helmet???

I'll start. Mine was done in an aircraft theme as I am a retired USAF aircraft Structural Engineer (38 years). When I first went in back in the early 70's all the airplanes were riveted aluminum for the most part. As the years went by, Aluminum gave way to Carbon fiber. The paint scheme shows the aluminum peeling back exposing the Carbon Fiber.

I've boasted enough, now it's everyone else's turn.

Who did it and what did it cost, if you don't mind me asking?

I used to have my goaltending helmets done in the early 2000s and they were usually 500 bucks or so. But the artists knew they were painting for college students so had they asked much more I'm not sure they would have gotten it. I know a very talented builder/painter here in Tucson that I would love to have do a helmet for me but I think it will be about a grand.

    Gorgeous helmet.

I had Scott at 5D Collision do it for me. He is or was a site sponsor. Located in middle ILLINOIS. Cost me $700 as I recall.

That's not bad at all for a custom paintjob.

    Helmet

    Here's mine. 1.jpg2.jpg3.jpg4.jpg

Goes with the color of the car quite nicely

My friend gave it to me and his friend paints helmets. The paint job is top notch.

The only drawback to having a really cool custom painted helmet is the fact that it will have to be swapped out at some point when the Snell ratings get updated....

Still works great for goKarting or riding a motorcycle

There is a big demand for good custom helmet paint jobs and he can get some decent money per helmet.

I need to get another one painted. This one held up good for several years of use.
