Black Oz Wheels on Graphite Metallic GTS

I went ahead and bit the bullet and ordered a new set of black Oz Racing Wheels and Toyo R888's from JonB. The Michelins were getting old and worn and the curb rash on the stockers was killing me.

I was going back and forth between these and the Sidewinder2's. After a bunch of e-mails and calls with JonB, I decided to go with the Oz's and keep it 18's at all corners. I also really liked the extremely light weight of the Oz's. Although the Toyo's will wear out rather quickly, they will be super sticky and will commit me to maintaining a fresh set of tires.

JonB was great to work with. I called him up on a Friday afternoon and he had the wheels/tires mounted and balanced and shipped the same day. He made sure everything was taken care of before leaving to take on his weekend track duties.
There was also an issue because the rears had to come from another farther warehouse, but Jon was still able to have them shipped the same day. And because I am an impatient bastard, Jon even went into his own pocket to pay for the additional shipping costs to make sure they were shipped out immediately.

Also thanks to HeloSteve for sharing his experience with me on this same combo on his car.

If anyone is looking for a relatively cheap/lightweight solution, then take a look. The price included mounting, balancing, CF center caps and black lug nuts.

I wasn't always a fan of black wheels, but I feel this makes the car look much more aggressive. As opposed to showy with the stockers.

I'm interested in hearing why decided to stick with the 18" setup on all 4s. Have you heard of any cons when going with the "pirelli" sizes on the Gen IIs?

I haven't heard any feedback from those who just purchased SW2's/Pirellis, but I heard that there can be "potential" rubbing issues if you lower the car. I cannot attest to the verocity of that claim though. Mostly, I went with the 18's to keep future tire purchases more open. I also liked that this came with the center caps and black lugs. I think they were also a smidgen lighter than the SW2's.

Thanks! And I see you just purchased a custom set of wheels. Awesome and congrats! They look great on your red beast.

Man oh man, if I had every dollar that I spent on wheels and tires in my life, I think I could have a private jet on 24 hour standby.

Thanks for the feedback and kind words.

Now you need 2 things: Spring Caps to lower a tad; and an updated AVATAR!

NOTE: PartsRack has also sold a bunch of Gen 5 Wheels {$2395/set] and 18-19" G5 wider Pirellis {$1239!} , with ZERO rubbing issues on G1-2 Vipers, even if they have been moderately lowered. In fact we have NOT encountered any rubbin on any G1-2 Viper, regardless of lowering.

Lol, I was able to sneak that in right before I left work for the day. I hope to do coilovers in the future, but don't mind being 4X4 high when exiting my driveway.

I'd love to see the GT-R at VIR!!! I'm super excited and we're just about a month away now.

Looks good. Love that graphite metallic color on the vipers. Siler wheels would look good also.
