    Custom Made Gauges

    Hey guys,

Working on designing custom gauges for the Viper. It is basically a sandwich of a transparency up front, and plane paper behind. The needles are a generic GM product and only cost 20$ shipped. I chose to change the needles because the OEM ones do not allow light to pass through them due to them being black plastic. I want these puppies to glow red! The part that connects to the motor is longer, so I am going to cut them down to size. Currently have finals this week so I will continue working on them next week.

Just wanted to see what you guys thought of the project! Thanks!

Yeah I love it. That color combo would look hot on my vert too. How much you charge to make me a set?

Ha! I am not sure about selling them Bmw2nv2000. We will see how things go when I finish the first set. It wont be a simple modification because I am going to have to modify the lighting behind the gauge to not have a "hot spot" on the gauge face. The Viper gauges are all designed to not allow light through them, but around the edges of them. I also have to solder in a red smd LED for the needle. I will let you know when I am done if I plan on making a few sets for you guys. If I don't end up selling, I will for sure write up a good DIY. Thanks for the compliments!

While we're talking about gauges, what are your thoughts on Digital Gauges? Loved these on my G37

First prototype lit! Now to adjust hot-spots and wire the led for the gauge needle.
