Trying to replace the e-brake pads on the passenger side of my '08 and can't get the piston to push back in order for the new pads to fit. Anyone else run into this? Actually stripped the handle on my retraction tool trying to push it in....

Well, I got it. Just needed some more leverage so used vice grips on the retraction tool and was able to push it back in just far enough.
If I am not mistaken, you have to have a hand-tool with two pins that turns the piston. This will allow it to retract.
Twisting needle nose pliers in the indention holes did the trick for me.
Ha! SA Heat, I thought I was the only cheap bastard who did that.
It worked like a charm, right?!?! I love cheap fixes!![]()
