    Found on Floor Mat

When I got in the car this morning, this was sitting on my floor mat, under my pedals. It's about 3/4" long. I tried to get my fat head in there, but couldn't see squat. Some sort of dowel pin? From where?

Does it have any provision to put a c-clip on it? I would not throw it away.

Nope, perfectly smooth, about a millimeter in diameter. No lube, nothing. And I never throw anything away!

Maybe, but I don't think so. My friend who's an engineer thinks it could be left over from the install of something in the dash, and now 8000 miles later, jarred loose. Who knows?

Everything intact so far.... I put about 143 miles on the car today, and everything is working normally. As I mentioned, I tried sticking my head in there, but it's too big (or so everybody tells me!!). Can't see a thing, or where it might have come from.

It's the locking pin for the Flux Capacitor!

In all seriousness, it could be some sort of locking pin, but what's it locking? It's tiny, about 3/4 inch.
