Those subtle differences give it a very nice pop! Good Stuff. However, seeing the side by side, makes the Gen2 look old :-(

Thanks... I have to say that it's a pretty even split with folks that know both cars and which they like better and I'm right on the fence myself. The guy who did the updates likes my GenII better. He also had a 08 Gen4 VR Vert that he traded in for a Blue ZR1 in 2009 which he is now trading in on a new every single option Z07 Vert which when it comes in we are going to swap cars for a cruise. He tells me that once I drive his new Z07, I won't ever buy another Viper... haha

    Well done! Looks great.

The body colored x-brace is a nice touch, I think most would go for black but it works with the yellow. I like that you left the "Viper" on the coil covers the same same as the ribs on the intake, breaks up the engine bay nicely.

Are the fender badges, gas cap, and taillight surround painted, powder coated, or vinyl wrapped?

The brace, valve covers and fuel cap are painted. The side badges are stock black and the the emblem on the brace is a TA nose sticker.

Nicely done, just enough to make her your own.

Do you have to use a high temp paint for the engine stuff?

Same plan I have for my wheels, looks real good.

how hard is it to remove the gas cap to paint?

  12. #12
Apparently the Fuel door removal is a huge PITA. Rear wheel and inner fender come off and then supposedly tricky access to the bolts but I didn't do it or see it done. I think he said he used a catalysed car paint in the engine bay good for 400 degrees. The valve covers are really just like coil covers and there is no conductive heat coming directly from the engine.

I was actually going to have all of the lenses painted with black and clear except for the headlights but lost my nerve at the last second after hearing that the cops in the neighboring town don't like that.

Looks amazing. I'd throw on the aero splitters front and rear and powder the calipers yellow!

Seems very appropriate given that the motor sounds like a very large, angry bee.

Are the Viper decals on the calipers actually decals? And do you sell those too?

Know i don't and the OEM decals are painted on. There are caliper decals available in all colors from a seller on Ebay though.

Youd have to place directly over the painted "viper"

I saw them but wondered how close they'd be and how well they'd cover, I also think the script in body color would look right.
