Viper TA half mile race.

I ran my car at Shift Sector half mile last Sunday. Best trap was 154. There was a c7 z06, he was high 140's, took off his z07 wing and gained 5mph. I think his best was 152. I also ran my 2012 bmw s1000rr, ran out of gear and trapped 169, there was a Kawasaki H2 there, 168 and another s1000rr than ran 169 but the rider was rather heavy. My 240z ran 171 on nos. I think fastest of the day was a heffner lambo at 224.

The TA wing is glued on, not really something you can just remove.

Sweet...it's great you run the car in different types of racing or motorsports.
You have great nerve pushing a bike that quick, I had a s1000r for a while...just too fast.

Was the 224 lambo the green one you went head to head? He kind of left you on that one.

No that one was running high 180's, low 190's around 1250 at the wheel, the other ones were double that hp, well into the 2000's. It's crazy how much more power you need to go from 200, to 220. They shortened the track this year to give people more time to brake so the traps were down a bit.

Not to take anything away from what you did, or others, but a lot of the speeds I saw from that event were 3-10mph faster than they should have been for a true standing 1/2 mile. Do you know if anyone had v-box data to verify the speeds?

Possibly weather and density altitude differences? My car can vary 3-4 mph on just a 1/4-mile track, depending on the weather. For half mile, you also have to factor in head wind vs tail wind.

The speeds varied all day, winds, temps, etc. The speeds were actually a little slower than they should have been because it was 50ft shorter this year to give the 200+mph cars room to brake. My old z06 did 160.2 last year, this year 158.

No, I wouldn't take her in the 240z, but I would in the Viper, much safer.

Nice man, I had the white set viper I trapped 159 MPH with headers, ported heads and a tune. I will be heading to no fly zone tomorrow for another half mile race. I am shooting for 163-165 Mph. After retuning my car it made 610 whp and increasing the rev limiter to 6700.

I saw a video on fb of what looked like a white 2015 Viper GT or GTS running a Lambo Huracan and putting a hurtin on it at the Shift-S3ctor Airstrip Attack 8. You said yours was an SRT, so probably not you. Any videos to share?

I went to Wanna Go Fast in at Ingalls Field in Hot Springs, VA this weekend. A Lamborghini from Prestige Auto Racing Team did 224 mph in the half mile. A 14 black TA did 143 and 144 mph consistently. The only thing I can think that slowed him down was the altitude at 3792 ft. A new Z07 was running 146-47 mph consistently. My friend in a 98 GTS with a Paxton ran a 160.25 mph. Beautiful place on top of a mountain. Temps were 54-65 over the weekend. Had quite a bit of wind on the mountain also. Lot of fun.
