    PCM positive terminal problem

    Bonjour guys,

I am trying unscrew the positive terminal on the PCM and it is hard and looks like some oxidization has happened.
I do not want to over torque it and break anything. Tried putting some WD40 to loosen it up and it is still too hard to unscrew. Like I said, I do not want to use extra strenght and break something.
Any trick I can use to unscrew the bolt???
Any danger if I use all my man power... lol

    Thanks.

I don't have any personal knowledge, but I've read many posts that state 'do not break/strip that terminal' or it will cost a lot to install a new one. Good luck.

    Exactly what I thought.
I wanted to install a round connector for my battery tender....guess I'll keep the clamp.
    Thanks
By the way, i just love you prefect DIY.

    Agree with caution here.

If you are committed to removing that nut, use a REAL penetrating oil such as Kroil or Schaeffer's Penetro 90. Apply a small amount CAREFULLY, wait a few hours, reapply, then try your luck. Suggest you carefully consider the potential fire hazard using these materials around electrical connectors. A spark could net a disaster. Protect yourself, the Viper, and your garage !!

If you can't get it loose, you may have to use a Dremel and cutoff wheel to shave the head off. Better to size the situation up with this as a potential fix than to break the stud off.

My post is in mint condition, however I encountered the same issue and decided to stop before any damage was done.
