Another new 2015 arrived in Alberta

My car finally showed up on Friday, a day late due to the truck breaking down on the way. But better late than never! Ordered the car from Ontario Chrysler, and can say that they were very easy to deal with.

Plan was to do a lot more break in miles, before hitting the track, but winter showed up for the weekend, so I made it to the track with 507 Kms on it, but made up for it by not wringing the neck off of it.....much.

I have a few observations I can make, which I hope may help some in their search. First off, no matter how terrible the roads, there was not a single rattle, squeak, bump, chirp in the interior, not one. I am assuming the few issues with the 2013 have been taken care of by now, at least on my car. And all you southern US drivers who complain about the roads in your neck of the woods, I dare you to drive on the frost heaved, cobbled moonscapes we call roads in Canada. Truly third world by comparison, and I do a lot of driving in the US. Also, the road noise is less than my Gallardo, with low RPM cruising engine noise surprisingly low, especially compared to my Gen 3. There is a drone at certain RPMs, but managed to drive around it without being too much over the speed limit. The only serious drone is on decel from 4000 down to 2500 RPMs which is quite loud, but can be solved with a little gas pedal pressure.

The paint easily makes the paint on my Gallardo look like it was done in the shed, it's that nice. I parked my car outside a friends shop, which was across the street from a respected body shop here. The crowd started small, but ended up being 10 guys pouring over the car, as they'd never seen a new one yet. The painters were blown away by the finish! One asked me, "How many times has this thing been cleared and polished?" I told them about the paint process, and invited them to find a flaw, but they gave up....

I have mentioned before, my lack of interest in the 2 mode suspension, as a firm ride has never bothered me as much as road noise and engine noise, and I am quite happy with my decision. The car's firm, no doubt, but it's never harsh, again on Canadian moonscapes. The suspension stiffness is on a comparable level with a friends first year production Lexus ISF, granted the first ones were very stiff for Lexus. This was confirmed between myself and the ISF owner during some back to backs on the same crappy roads.

The red GTS in one pic is LmeaViper's car, we met up on my way to the racetrack. The GTS interior is a very nice place to spend time, and the seats especially, just look quality. But after test fitting both cars, we both preferred the ballistic nylon seats in my SRT, they are much more roomy for some reason, and will surely breathe better. The SRT seats are definitely more "big man certified".

I had the TA alignment performed on my car before delivery, so I can't comment on how they come out of the box, but as delivered, the car drives arrow straight without a hint of tramlining. Perhaps this could be a fix for others who experience this. On the track, it just stuck, best feeling I've experienced on a road course. I love this car. And I'm sure my poor Lambo will gather a lot of dust this summer.

So would you say your weekend was above-average? LOL. Sounds like the car is a perfect fit for you...congrats! Glad to hear you'll be tracking it. What's the name of the track out there, and where's the video? Thanks for sharing!

Congrats on the car...happy to hear about the roominess of the SRT seats!!

Congrats! Funny thing is that I test drove this car a few weeks back... its what convinced me to order one. I also had concerns about the ride, all went away after the test ride.

I did notice a stone chip on the drivers side pillar, right at the joint where it meets the roof at the corner of the windshield. I hope this was looked after for you. Have fun

Congrats! Sweet car! 3rd pic looks like the parking lot between the Earls and Joey Tomatoes in Calgary south of the airport. If so, I know why you went there. I like their hiring policy too!

Nice to see more Canadian Snakes! And I hear you about our roads vs. American roads. They should hold a VOI in Canada so they can drive up and see our side. The difference starts right at the border crossing.

Congrats on the new car, it looks awesome!

Congrats on the car! The color is great. You'll need some CF to go with that alignment. .

Vipers getting delivered to their new owners is such an amazing experience. Not only to experience yourself as an owner, but for others to see in pictures. It's a special time.

    Congrats, looks great!

Yes, I'd say the weekend was pretty eventful. Never had a chance to install the seat lowering kit before the drive, so I had to drive like a bridge troll the whole way home, 450 miles..... And wearing a helmet was basically the same, the driving position needed to see, was the same as needed to clear the helmet. I'll admit, my neck is pretty sore at the moment.

    It was actually in Airdrie.

BTW, I'd like to give Jon B at Parts Rack a shout out here, for all the help he's been already. And especially for telling me to buy replacement tires through the VOA because I live in Canada, and Pirelli offers free shipping to Canada for the VOA. Thanks for refusing my money Jon! I picked up a screw in my front Corsa tire with less than 1000 Kms on it on my way home....... and none available in Canada that I could find.

Also thanks for getting my parts to me ASAP, unbelievable shipping times to Canada.

Also noted that the blue color was different than I expected based upon internet photos. A nice color indeed.

Car was treated very well, I simply wanted to check the operation of the clutch, tranny and ride quality. Have fun, my wait began 2 weeks ago
