I wonder when Snorman will eventually get a New Viper. I'm thinking the next ACR when it comes out. That guy always has the latest and greatest from any of the 3 American brands.

Nice driving btw OP, do you know if the c7z was on stock tires? I didnt see you mention this, but were you on stock tires?

Great Video! The viper and the Z06 both look impressive as well as the drivers. I doubt very much if the C7 Z06 was over heating when it's seen passing the viper towards the end of the video.

Z07 looked very impressive too. Did the owner experience any issues with high track temps as some have reported?

    Thanks for sharing!
Owner was a super nice guy and ex pro racer. Drove the car extremely well, said he didnt like that even in race mode it would cut the throttle on him some on corner exit. Was still pretty new to the car. We chatted a bit after the run and fans was running for quite some time, he said it hit around 298 oil temps, it was in the low-mid 50's.

    91 is full throttle.

Considering the squealing and look of it, I'd say that's not on slicks, but OEM tires, and a great job driving ... what a blast, what these cars are all about.
Pretty much it, the car was on slicks but they was heat cycled out at this point in the weekend, the front was about done when i started friday, we ran friday, sat, and sunday. This video was from sunday.

We did 2 lap prior to the video i pitted in to run with him, so he was on the 3rd lap, with the heat cycled tires and cold temps it was taking me almost 4 laps to get the tires up to temp. There was also alot of traffic which made for a fun session, after i passed him he was within 200 ft of me for the remaining laps, the viper would pull the vette just barely down the back straight, it would say around one car length max. Both very equal cars. My oil temps max out at 240.

I seen the checker flag in the next turn and pointed him by, he did nothing wrong. Figured a bit more cool down would before coming in.

No wonder chevy is slashing power train coverage

Welcome to drive-by-wire - as has already been stated, 91% = WOT on these cars.

I'm glad I waited before trading in my 2010 Z. I also posted on that thread ( LEE427), and also voted for Tadge to make a comment regarding these overheating problems with the new Z. I heard there was one that overheated at Laguna Seca recently. The guy pulled in the paddock with coolant steaming, boiling .. It was his first session too.. I think a blown car doesn't make a good track car period. Shoot I ran with ZR1s before, and all of them had to pull in a little earlier for a cool down..

I knew it was an issue, but I didn't realize the extent of it until I combed through that thread on CF...some of those oil temps are insane. It was really, really cool here in Ohio this past weekend...summer is just around the corner, so I'm curious to see what happens (if the owners even risk it).

Check that pid again, the pedal maxes at 91%, the throttle maxes at 85%. More bothersome is how long it takes the throttle to catch up with the pedal. The throttle on the G2 was not a lot different., I will have to look at an old log, but, I believe it was WOT at 81%. The numbers do not mean too much, in the case of the G5 It only means the G5 pedal is full down at 91% of 5 volts. It does seem to take a long time for the throttle to close on the pedal. I can see the need to retard the throttle at low rpms, but, the gap does not run parallel till 5500.
