Opinions on G5 Values when 2016 comes out

With all the talks of a supercharged viper in 2016, just curious on everyone's thoughts on values for 2013 and 2014s? Of course there is no crystal ball, but I'd imagine many that have vouchers would trade up and lots of clean used 13s will be on the market.

There isn't going to be some dramatic redo of the Viper. They are going to get a few more years out of this body style. Perhaps a targa and the ACR.

Values are pretty much as low as they'll get for awhile.

There won't be a factory supercharged Viper. Just the aftermarket kit.

Just curious why you think this? I have no idea but the same line of thinking was said about the Hellcat and look what SRT did.

When they start showing up in the wild as prototypes like the Hellcats did, I'll believe it...until then, I'm not holding my breath.

Id bet the odds of a DCT paddle shift tranny showing up are a lot greater than a factory blown Viper. SRT has to offer this to compete with other competitors like the Vette, Ferrari, and Porsche. Prolly not a lot of body changes til Chrysler recoups the R&D money from this model first.

No factory blown Viper ever (see C7 Z06 for reason), and no DCT and exhaustive nannies for those who need a Gen V that's easier to drive quickly (maybe Gen VI).

Wish there was a Gen 6 thread, speculation and what might be coming down the pipeline.

If there was a supercharged viper in the pipeline for 2016, we would've definitely have heard about it by now.

The fact that there aren't many Vipers built, keeps their values relatively high. Look at the Gen 1-2 cars, their values are rising now. Eventually, the Gen 3 and Gen 4 cars will begin rising too. Vipers haven't historically dropped in value just because of mid-cycle refresh. Even a new generation hasn't ever really caused previous Viper values to plummet. Used Gen 5's in the 70s and 80s are still excellent buys.

MOPAR didn't even make the Venom controller a Dodge part, it's an Arrow part, the Sledgehammer is a kit ... Dodge isn't making an 800hp FI viper. I don't see Dodge 'owning' these things, just collaborating - since they've finally learned that word.

2016 is a refresh, 99.999% unlikely this will be anything close to qualifying as a "gen6". My guess is: on the low side of things, some minor tweaks to bumper areas, wheels, aero, some interior tweaks maybe; on the high side, a targa or vert, or an ACR but not with a major power bump but with killer looks and even more sorted suspension, etc.

We're still only 2 years out from the resurrection of the viper, it was all but dead, what, 48 mos ago, we need to be realistic in expectations, it's amazing this car is as awesome as it is with its timeline & budget.

As for price, I think it's all settled out, buyers should focus on winter, sellers on spring summer, those are the biggest swings in the market I've seen in pricing.

Appreciate all the feedback everyone. I am trying to snag a deal for a G5 in the low 70s - I know that might be tough but I am patient and open to most colors and options. If that doesn't happen over the next 6 months I was also considering a G4 but have not test driven one yet. My only experience is a g2 rt/10 that I owned for a few years and loved.
