    Gen 5 Seat Lowering Kit

Just got back from Wisconsin and had to say Thanks Cory and Steve from Snake Oyl for the fantastic job of installing the seat lowering kit that was developed by Cory for the Gen 5's. Anyone that is tall I highly recommend that they call Snake Oyl and get one. Im 6 ft 4 in and needed the extra head room. It makes a huge difference foe me and makes the car so much more comfortable to drive. THANKS AGAIN CORY AND STEVE!!!!

You have a GT so does that mean it works with a power seat?

Thanks for the kind words Rob.

The seat will work with either the manual or Power Seat. The lowering kit removes the fore and aft adjustment (seat is secured near/at the full aft position). The height adjustment (manual/electric) still is functional.

At the full down postion, you will gain 2+ inches in height. You can customize the drop by raising the seat to a position of comfort if the full down position is too much.

I am interested in checking it out, once you get your kit installed.

I finally got the seat lowering kit installed today. Man what a difference! I fit, and I can see, what a concept. Guaranteed best mod to the car.

Install took a couple hours, and the kit is complete, and very well made. A couple points to keep in mind:

    1. The seat kit can be slid fore and aft a fair bit, so I installed it giving me the most leg room. Problem was, with the tracks installed in this position, the remaining bracket, that was integral to the seat, interfered with installing the rear nuts, as they have large integral washers on them. So out the seat came, so I moved it to the more forward position.

    2. I'm on the larger side of average, so my forearm couldn't really fit between the seatback and the car, my hands were also too big to get behind the tubular support on the rear of the seat. Solution was call a friend with small arms and hands to tighten the rear nuts. Watching him make it look easy was almost as annoying as the trouble I had trying to do it myself.......

Most important part is follow the instructions. I put a towel over the sill and the center console for protection during removal and install.

    Thanks.
So you found the best position and installed it accordingly? Or once it is installed that is the only position the seat can be in (except for up and down)? I am not the tallest guy around so if that is the case then no one else will likely be able to drive my car?
On the flip side I can't see how I could get a helmet on in the car the way it is now.

Well in my case it only fit one way, which is why the kit is designed with some play in it.

Honestly, with the seat an inch forward from full rear, and with the adjustable pedals moved towards you, I think even short legged people could benefit from this kit.

And ya the seat can be moved up as well still.
