    Strange Leak. 1996 RT/10.

I haven't been driving the Viper much but I have been starting it regularly and running it for several minutes. Sometimes I have to move it around so I can work on my other cars.

Recently I discovered that the car was dripping when I moved it back and forth in the garage. Small drops maybe a couple of feet apart. Looked like a clear liquid and odorless.

Couldn't tell much with just the small spots but tonight I ran the car for a while and found a puddle on the garage floor.

I think it's water. It's clear, odorless, feels like water (I didn't taste it), and when I blotted it with a paper towel, the paper towel did not change color.

My coolant is green so it's not that and it's not oil or tranny fluid. And I haven't run the AC in a long time.

See photo. The puddle was about 6 inches across.

I ran the car again for a few minutes, then moved it and found a smaller puddle. Ran it again, shined a light under the car and didn't see anything dripping but I think there was a wet spot (about the size of a silver dollar) just below the muffler at the back of the car.

Is it possible that it's just condensation from the exhaust?

Or could it be something else?

Thanks for any help you folks can give.

Sounds like condensation to me. Perhaps a small exhaust leak is causing it to form where it does. For reference, can you take a side shot of the car and put some arrows in to indicate where the puddle is?

Also, you say you havwnt run the AC in a long time. Do you mean, a long time until now? Or, it just hasn't been turned on at all in months?

    Thanks.

I bought the car last October and checked the AC then. Haven't used it since as I've been driving the car topless.

I'll check for another drip tomorrow and see if I can come up with a location.

    Yeah, that's it.

I just fired up the car and watched the exhaust tips spit water droplets.

    Thanks, all.

i park my cars over large rubber mats. You would not believe the amount of moisture that can build up. Try to put something down and see if you get the same results.
