hopefully not another buy back :(

Well my car seams to be at the dealership more than me having fun with it. First off the air box wasn't bolted down neither was the front left shock. Second car stalling and looks like to be a cam phaser. third just got the car back once again stalling now I have a cam phaser and electronic throttle showing up. The car is going back to the dealership on a flat bed and I had to take the day off just to pick it up. can't say again how disappointed I am.

Insane the amount of problems I read about on this car. I hope I am one of the lucky ones that can enjoy mine more than its in the shop. My Gen III was a POS money vacuum. I was hoping they'd get it right 11 years later.

Yes I know you only hear the bad stuff, but considering the limited production it's still a ton......and some of these problems are just unacceptable lazy BS.

    Try another dealer.

I agree, this seems to be more than just "bad luck".

Can't stress this enough, Chrysler's real weak point on their high end cars is the dealership network. Having an SRT trained tech means very little.

It's sad to see the problems with Gen V's and hear about the dealer who can't fix them. That's one thing I love about current Gen II and my previous Gen II, nothing ever goes wrong with it.

what he said. the dealership network for SRT is pathetic. there isnt one single dealer in the NY/NJ area id ever trust to work on one.
THE IGNORE FEATURE WORKS, TRY IT...

I've been fortunate-4 Vipers and ALL of them basically trouble free and perfect!! However-if a problem arose outside the realm of ordinary- out to Roanoke, Tomball or Woodhouse it would go!! EFF the freight-if THEY can't fix it than I'd pursue a more RADICAL course of action!!

The car is in Atlanta. The dealer replaced the oil and then went on a 30 mile road trip with no codes. Drove the car home and it staled. Went to start it up and it was running real bad. Cam code + throttle control. It just sucks taking it to the dealer. SRT has pushed it up the chain to engineering.

Sorry to hear about your problems. It seems much less common on here than the Corvette C7Z forum, even after considering the number of cars selling. If it makes you feel any better someone over there couldn't make the 3-mile journey from picking up the car to his home without a serious problem.

I've had many many cars. Nothing, and I mean NOTHING, has the cabin noise this viper has. The wind noise, door rattle, six point seatbelt opening towards the top squeek, and engine humming in my Gen V make it seem like I'm driving a go cart. Viper was my dream car, now not so much. You really realize the differences when you put 2000 miles on her as a DD then switch to a Honda Accord and wow, the Accord is like a Rolls Royce in comparison. I definitely won't be recommending this car to anyone for several reasons. Not to mention dealing with dodge dealership service is beyond ridiculous and puts the icing on the cake. I'll never buy another viper again.

Wow, glad I didn't buy another Viper. I liked all 4 of mine, but after getting into Porsches and Ferrari's ect. It was hard for me to drive the Viper. Felt like 6 generations back from the others. My last Viper was gen 4 ACR. Was hoping this new one would be different.

It sounds like you should never have bought it in the first place, and your comments should be helpful so others don't make the same mistake. It would have been easy to find out if there were recommended dealers in your area, they would fix any wind noises and rattles, even superficial research would turn up that it is loud, not considered a daily driver (although some certainly use it happily as such), and any comparison between any exotic high performance and any common daily driver is really beyond ridiculous. Sell it to someone who will love it forever and move on. Good luck, and thanks for posting so others will benefit.

And as counter point, I absolutely adore my '14 TA. The biggest surprise was the decent ride quality, comfortable seats, and engine noise levels that are more restrained than I expected. Loved 12,000 miles in 6 months, and still rattle and wind noise free. I daily drive mine in the summer in my rural area, and have taken it on several road trips. Exactly the opposite experience as yours. Among the top performing track capable cars available at any price, and broadly improved over previous Vipers according to all.

Apologies to the OP, and good luck getting your issues resolved.

Mamba, I have to agree with some of the previous posts. Ship it to Viper exchange or Woodhouse...There's nothing like experience. It'll cost you to ship, but it'll be done right!!

No kidding, comparing interior noise to an Accord? Really?

How about comparing it to every other car on the market? It's still crap considering it's a $100k+ car. The c7 vette is better in every way, other than power and exterior looks.

Then trade the Viper on a Vette and move on. My 14 GTS is my daily driver and I have none of the issues you speak of. You do know by the way that there is a software update on the windows that fixes an issue where they don't go up all the way which causes wind noise.

Left front shock not bolted down from the dealer or the manufacturing?? Thats insane either way! Very dangerous!

This Viper IS different. I had a Gen IV Coupe and it was very good. I now have a 2014 Yellow/Blk Stripes GTS that is loaded--Laguna Leather, Sidewinder II wheels and Corsas., all exterior carbon fiber, etc. The car is rattle free after 3300 mi. awesomely fast, modern, solid and beautiful inside and out. From the factory: 645hp; 600trq; 3400 lbs; and just add gas and oil. In 10 months of ownership it has exceeded my very high expectations.

Now, I have a BMW for a daily driver and would not daily-drive a Viper due to driveway clearances, client meetings, etc.

Don't let a few disgruntled parties spoil the entire situation. I would also recommend getting a loaded car vs. a stripped car.

You are either uneducated or a troll, I'm going to have to go with the latter. Compare paint quality with that C7 Vette sometime and let me know. Thanks.
