Take it to a good dealer. Try mountain view. If he like vett go get one very happy with my 14 ta and have a 15 coming to match. Or go get a honda
I just got my tag YORNGE so I'm sure they can fix the car and like I said hopefully it won't be a buy back. I also own a 14 C7 and yes they are great cars but it can't compete with my Viper and I love my beast.
Hahahahaha.. An Accord is like a Rolls Royce compared to my Lamborghini as well.... I guess I should trade in my old noisy, hard riding, cement seat Gallardo for a Honda, apparently it's an upgrade!
In all seriousness, if you expected the Viper to be quiet and refined, you never read one review... even from Viper lovers. I sold my last Viper a few years ago, and had always missed it. I also looked back at it more fondly than all my more civilized cars. It's the absurdity of it, that makes it great. It's always been said it takes a certain person to appreciate a Viper, and I am one, and you are not. Which is cool. Sounds like you either got a Friday car, had a clueless dealer, or both. Which sucks, and would definitely leave a sour taste in your mouth. But it sounds like, even if you didn't have the rattles and wind noise, which should have been addressed, you wouldn't have liked it anyway. Oh well, live and learn, and the Accord is much cheaper!
Viper isn't for everyone. I don't think you can paint Mambas issues with a broad brush to include every Viper.
Hell, even McLaren techs destroy brand new cars on joyrides http://imgur.com/a/q8HD2
Lets not forget the GT3 fiasco for Porsche.
I agree that is unacceptable. A 30 mile test drive was obviously too short. You should insist next time that they drive it whatever it takes to get the symptom and codes. At least 300 miles. They must be rookies, not taking the opportunity to put some decent mileage on the car.
I'm not sure why everyone is putting words in my mouth. I never said I didn't love the viper. I was giving my honest opinion about cabin noise then everyone assumed I hated it. I guess I can't say anything negative about the viper on a viper forum. That was my mistake, just trying to help others! I read reviews on here and other forums before I purchased. I didn't know Dodge was going to have quality control issues. The passenger side has no rattle, no squeek, no wind noise. The drivers said has all 3. I fixed the door rattle myself today after going to the dealership twice (the last time they actually made it worse). It was the clip that the bolt under the SRT logo on the drivers side door goes into. I put foam under the clip and no more rattle, not sure how the dealer didn't catch that twice. It was clearly the problem when you take the door panel off. I'm glad my problems aren't the norm and I'm glad I'm not like some of the posters here who feel like they have to defend the viper from honest reviewers by calling them names.
Enjoy your rides, hopefully I'll be seeing some of you at Sebring.
Wow!! Viper bashing 101. Expecting my TA 2.0 IN JUNE and expecting to be a very very happy buyer being that this will be my 1st viper. Corvettes are a dime a dozen. If want a vette join a vette club thread and give us peace. How can one compare a viper sound to an accord is obserd and wondering what mental faculties he has upstairs. Lol.
Although you certainly can't compare the ride quality of a sports car to a sedan, I cant see why anyone would defend a manufacturer for producing a vehicle with QC issues. I've never trusted any Dodge dealer in my area, that's a huge negative right off the bat. I do everything myself, but that's no excuse for Dodge. Anyone spending 100K on a car should be getting their ass kissed, not be treated like an ahole by a bunch of High School drop outs. Awesome car designed by some really savvy guys with real American balls, the rest of the wagon has always been full of crap. Having only two dealers in the country that are worth a damn is a complete joke.
I agree 100%. I would add that it's sad to see people making negative comments about someone who has had major problems with their new Gen V and had to deal with dealers who can't fix it. There have been a lot of threads about Gen V's with major problems and dealers who can't fix them. I feel for all the people.
Please a person and it will go largely unsaid, have an issue, and this person will go out of his way to shout from the tree tops (as he should in most instances).
I have owned gen 3 & gen 4 Viper products and the cars have been an absolute JOY to maintain and own. I've never had an issues with anything outside of the normal wear tear, and from riding around in a gen 5 they feel like an absolute lexus compared the previous generations. If a gen 5 is too harsh for you, then honestly, a Viper isn't the right car for you, period. No harm, no foul, move along.
OP I feel for you, and hope your issues get resolved. Vehicles will have problems, the Viper is hand built by human beings, who unfortunately have their bad days. Things slip through the cracks, it happens. It is then on the corporation as a whole to make it right (and I think its this area the Viper suffers the most, leaving out our 3 fav dealership choices).
People want Mclaren performance, Toyota reliability, Porsche refinement, and Lexus isolation for a car that costs 85k. Get f'ing real. Trade-offs, they exist in life.
