    *** Aeros & Autos + Houston 1/2 Mile SHOOTOUT! | May 16th 2015 ***

It's that time of the year for the annual Aeros & Autos car show hosted at Ellington Field (across the freeway from Hobby Airport). It should be a great event with a lot of local houston car clubs representing their little slice of the pie. We should be no different! There will be plenty to see and do for all ages, from the show itself to vendors, helicopter rides (previous years), and aircraft displays. Proceeds from this event are distributed to multiple charities.

I am coordinating things with the A&A group to have an area for the Houston Viper Club so that we can all be corralled in one area. For this I need you guys to RSVP so we know how much space we need.

REGISTRATION FOR CAR SHOW HERE: http://fly2houston.com/aerosandautos

For the sake of clarity, the car show portion registration will be done on site. Ie. there is no pre-sale, show-up, pay, tell them: "I'm with the Houston Viper Club", and they will direct you to our parking area!

In addition, (and this is separate registration from the car show) there will be a 1/2 Mile shoot-out event going on the same day on one of the runways. It is wonderful to have something like this in our backyard, and a smooth, up kept runway to do it on. This is more than i can say for the Texas Mile in Beeville.

Please see below for all the information in regards to this event. I will be participating and hope other local Viper owners will join the fun!

    Registration

    Registration Fee is $395.00
    Registration fee covers unlimited runs
Each Registration comes with 1 crew entry. Each additional crew wristband is $5 and can only be purchased online during registration. Please make sure to include the names of all additioanl crew.
    Waiting List fee is $35.00
Adding a 2nd driver to your registration is $50.00
In order to register for the event you will need to sign up for a U.S. Mile profile. LINK: https://www.usmileracing.com/registr...ofile/?newuser

    Important Information

We will have a 1/4 Mile trap as well as a 1/2 Mile trap set up at The Houston 1/2 Mile event. This means that every participant will get a 1/4 Mile speed and a 1/2 Mile speed on thier time slip!!

    No Refund Policy:

The U.S Mile & U.S. 1/2 Mile registration fee is non-refundable and non-transferable for any reason. Due to the many investments that go into planning the event, there will be no refunds for participant entry fees if the event has to be cancelled due to circumstances beyond our control including but not limited to the weather. The event will not be rescheduled. As with any racing events, the money invested in making the event happen is spent regardless if zero runs are made or 1000 runs are made.
In the event of bad weather, we will stop runs for a period of time to wait for the weather to pass. We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause you.
    Here are some pictures Andres (and others) put up from a previous years event;

That looks like it will be a blast. Wish I lived closer to the Houston area.

Ellington Field is nice and smooth with plenty of room to stop. I which they would make it a 1-mile event. Its not a side-by-side racing venue, but still plenty of fun. I am expecting to see many fast cars here.

Dog gone it . . . we can't be there as we're taking our final driving tour of Texas World Speedway that same weekend before they shut it down and turn it into a huge neighborhood.

    Alex,

I'd love to attend but won't know if I can, until we get closer to the date. In the future could you try and schedule more convenient events a little closer to the house? I goggle mapped it and am looking at a 10.6 mile commute, 17 damn minutes with traffic! Hope to see you there

When they originally announced this it was a 1 mile format, which I could get excited about. Then they decreased it to a half mile. If they allowed side-by-side racing, it would be a lot more fun for sure.

I am also playing it by ear due to weather. I've been very interested in running the 1/2 so if the weather is good I will definitely be there.
