So what is better than two Vipers? My inputs on the Gen V

Hello VOA ! I have been setting here for months now reading and researching all the info I can get before buying a new viper and I can say that I have come across a lot of useful info and discussions that made my purchase much easier, and for that, I thank everyone of you.

I am a first-time viper buyer, never owned one before and didn't like the previous generations that much, from exterior/interior wise, but I love them in terms of performance specially the ACR. Don't shoot me just yet, but I would rather make it clear how I look into things before and after. Having said that, I own a 2009 SRT Challenger and I am a big fan of MOPAR ever since. So yes, the new Gen V Viper got my attention and I started working my financials and savings since late 2013. So let's start with all the positives so far.

I found for my self a beautiful 2013 Shadow blue pearl GTS Viper with a track package that I fell in love with immediately, specially that it fits the budget just fine. I finally picked it up on March 26th 2015, and man this car looks so much better in person. The color was not my favorite until I set my eyes on it. Rare and unique ! the touch up paint is a very rare color with beauty in it. I don't like dark colors that much but this time I changed my mind. It is actually looking more elegant and mean in dark, or so I believe.

The outside looks is really furious. Every curve of the car makes you even more excited and you can feel straight away it is No ordinary car. I loved the hood design so much. The body lines are excellent and the best angle I love looking at is when you see it from the rear corner, this will get me pumped up always. Now the front view with the snake head feeling is what makes the viper so special and thoughtful.

Once you get inside the car, you will appreciate the quality of the interior. The dashboard is visible and convenient, the seats gives you the racing mode feel and the snake logo in front of you is exactly where it should. Every detail is superb as a simple AC vents design and function is just outstanding in my opinion. i do appreciate the rear view camera a lot and the auto dimming mirror. The U-connect surely has come a long way since 2009 and it is much appreciated.

As for driving the car, the first thing I felt when I drove it was fear ! Can't explain why though. Once I drove it down to my house, I immediately realize why everyone is saying how the viper is more of a drivers car as you can feel it under your feet, it is pretty much an engaging experience all the way long. I am not used to drive manual cars but the viper makes it so easy. the fact that you can hear the transmission shifting is awesome. I believe SRT team nailed it on this. The pedals were perfect for me, not really sure why some people didn't like their position, they are close enough for me to drive the car smoothly.

The power of the viper is intoxicating ! she is a monster on the roads that you want to stay away from. The more I push the acceleration pedal, the more smile I get on my face. Very violent, raw and sharp. I can't blame others for not buying a viper, it is not everyone's car which gives it the exclusivity I love about it. Driving on a weekend can let you see a dozen of Lambos, vettes, porches, etc but never a viper. That's why it gets crazy attention that you sometimes want the other cars to focus on the road not to crash into something !

The Gen V has as amazing stock exhaust sound, specially the sound when you start the viper, best part ever. I am a die hard fan also of the pop up when slowing down and I believe this will make me rush to buy the Arrow PCM very very soon ! I love the Corsa cat-back sounds in general and guessing it will be a good add to the stock sound.

Well, for the negatives, I can't say much really but I have a small notes. The drone from the exhaust is OK by me as I love hearing the car all the time but it gets into my wife nervs lol and I guess it is fair to say that a stock factory car should have zero drone to start with. The ride comfort with street optimized shocks is not how I thought it would be and the steering wheel is not as light as I have imagined. I am not complaining really but just explaining how the reviews here affected my imagination lol. It is little bumpy with uneven roads and the steering is quite fair really but not light. I guess this is normal with a race car like the viper.

I have just finished my break in period and changed the engine oil and filter with a quick check ups, will be driving the car more hard this week so we will see. I am sure I have read here before how to drive the viper fast on a street race/Drag race but can't find that info for some reason about lifting your foot while shifting. I have participated in many drag races but have attended little open circuit tracks before with the challenger, so one of the main goals from buying the viper is to build up my driving capability on tracks and there should be no better car that can do this for me. I surely can say that I am learning from Bruce H so far and I hope that I can add to this community my insights and experiments.

My best friend got him self a beautiful yellow 2014 GTS and we have now a new friend with a gorgeous red 2014 GTS. It is a good learning experience to share our thoughts and inputs with three different cars in person. Hope I have added some and thanks for your time.

The Viper is definitely one hell of a drivers car! I honestly haven't driven anything that compares to it yet.

Welcome aboard Aziz and if you ever drive down to Dubai let me know

If I have a passenger in my car that's sensitive to drone, sometimes I cruise in 5th to get the RPM above 3K to lessen the drone.

The title of the thread caught my attention......"better than two vipers". However a good write up; good colour choice too.....just lacking stripes?
