Hi all - I've been reading the forums for months leading up to buying my car. I officially joined the forum and the VOA today. I have had a variety of toys over the years and still have a few others but I have said for years that if I could afford to buy any car I wanted it would be a Viper. So needless to say I'm pretty excited to FINALLY own one.

I bought a 2005 Red one with 35,000 miles on it. The dealer I bought it from doesn't really know crap about it or what's been done/not done to it. I've been over to Woodhouse and met Bill P and I've been e-mailing Mark J. over there too. Bill gave me the club info and I'm going to get the car over to Mark soon for a complete service, new tires and maybe a few other tweaks while he's at it. They are as good as I had read they would be....they really live up the reputation they have so that was nice to see. Bill really went out of his way to educate me on the cars and the differences.....and he still talks to me even though I bought mine somewhere else. Thanks Bill!

I live NE of Des Moines and bought the car in Eau Claire, Wi. I drove it the 5 hours home a few weeks ago and other than a few short test drives that was the first time I had really driven a Viper. After all the reading about the brute power of these cars I was pretty nervous at first but that didn't last long. It's really a very easily managed car to drive if you take it easy. Now with a little over 500 miles on it I've started to play around just a little with it and it's a blast. I need to burn up these crappy old tires before I go buy the new ones anyway right?? :-)

Maybe I'll see you around. If there's anyone else in the Des Moines or Marshalltown area give me shout and maybe we can get together. I plan to drive it to Karl Performance for their cars and coffee thing the morning of April 11th. Is anyone else here going?
