Quick Notes: 2015 NY Auto Show

It's done! The 2015 NY Auto Show is in the books but I wanted to give you guys some quick notes that I took from the show.

    Viper notes:

-I spoke with Chrysler Communication Manager, Dan Reid. I asked Dan about the Viper configurator. The company responsible for making it is set to make it live in about or under 6 weeks or so. It is VERY well done and I think you guys will like it. I previewed it on a display they have just behind the Viper stand. It's a lot like a simplified version of photoshop, you can tweak your color choice to a very fine degree, wheel, interior, and stripe options are also available to view. I took some screens myself to share with you guys so hopefully I'll have them up tonight.

-The Red/black striped car everyone is so picky about, I LOVED IT! The stripes are different yes and honestly I don't think a single picture can do it justice until you see it in person. It has little snake skin scales (I think) in the stripes. Of course I sat in it twice, because Viper.

-Maurice is still popular with the girls, they all say hi buddy!

Here's a shot from inside the Viper I took with my phone, pretty neat.

    Other notes:

-Nissan is a big pooper. I wanted so badly to see the new GT-R LM. Sadly it was no show and all they revealed were a bunch of $34k Altima's.

-MCLAREN MADE MY DAY! MY FREAKIN' DAY! THE SHOW! I'm flying out to Ohio at the end of the month to hang out with the Ohio VOA and were going to Rahal Letterman Racing. Justin Bell's FINA McLaren F1 GTR is in there, so I was bound to see one anyway. BUT! McLaren brought over 1 of 3 (ONE OF THREE!) F1 XP GT Long Tail's. Pretty much one of the RAREST road cars in McLaren's existence. I stared at it, admired it, smelled it, simply automotive bliss! I've waited a LONG time to see a F1, This thing put me in deep space, not just to the moon. I'm still talking about it. It's just...Oh, so nice.

-Aston Martin brought the Vulcan! What a sweet race car, thing is bonkers. The spoiler, splitter are massive. Definitely made for some serious downforce! Love it. Another Unicorn on the floor.

-Subaru even went nuts, revealing a new STi Performance Concept (A BRZ on steroids) which a lot of the autocross guys I know appreciate. They also brought out the 22B! Which is 1 of 2 in the world!

-I got invited to the Scion preview Tuesday night, which meant free beer! Oh and Mitsubishi gave us lunch and MORE FREE BEER!

-I met Bucky Lasek! (X-games gold medalist and current global rallycross driver for Subaru) If you remember Bucky, he also drove in the Viper cup a few years back too.

-The new Miata is very nice, the club sport package is sweet. Would not mind driving one of those.

-Press kits are no longer physical items anymore. Everything is online now. Kinda sucks, I did get some from Mopar, FCA, KIA, Subaru, Scion and Mazda.

Anyway that's all for now! More later!

Surprised no comments about that silver Ford GT?? Everyone I text'd loved it.

If you had a regular striped viper next to that red one, not sure you'd still like it? Looks like a mistake you see on ebay..

I liked that multicolored white viper but it looks real odd with orange calipers and the dark brown interior.

    Okay.

The TT V6 still kills it for me. Really only one line I like on the car and that's the tunnel down the side from the rear. Looks pretty but not for me. Much rather have the previous one. Personally I liked the NSX more but not by much.

I'd still like it. It's different. Like I said, in person it's really not all that bad and people flocked to it and sat in it. The Viper def had a better reception to the public than last year in matte paint sitting on the stand.

The Multicolored car is a wrap, a very well done one at that. Couldn't find the seams! Awesome way to showcase the 1-of-1 program. (It's perfect for easter weekend too!)
