TA 2.0 Canards instead of front lower splitters??????

    Hi Guys,
I have my car on the way and have had Tomball install the spring cabs so I fear the lower splitters are going to get trashed quickly. I still would love to run the rear spoiler but want to bring back some balance to the front to compensate for the new found rear downforce. Do any experts know if the TA 2.0 canards generate sufficient downforce to compensate? Would be a nice solution for the Northeast!

    Thanks,

    Greg

This is the option I'm going to take myself. I have the spoiler added now, after a track day I felt the car was planted on rails, I didn't feel any lack of balance, and Ralph did run his car with the spoiler alone for a while too, but .. I too don't want the lower lip any lower and am deciding on which canards to use. JonB has said he hopes to have an option coming soon, so I'm holding out to see what that is. I don't think the OEM is available for order yet. As for function, I can't imagine they wouldn't be a very close balance, but I don't think there's any hard data on front-end down force from these out there, I tried looking but only see specs on the spoiler & wing for actual down force when I was checking around unless new info is out or someone smarter chimes in.

What throws off the data is the fact that the 2.0 has the additional lower lips added underneath the splitters so I would assume they do a large chunk of the downward push. If not it would be easier to extrapolate the figures.

The 2.0 canards are not yet available in the system but they are priced... $2250.00 EACH (at this time) It would cost less to replace the splitters...

Yeah I assumed it would be absurd, and would go aftermarket. Thanks for chiming in.

Agency Power has their front clip setup, but doubt you'll find anyone who could give you any performance feedback.

Lower canards are $400 a set
Upper canards are $600 a set
Front lip is $1600 (lays flat and is gives more ground clearance, just not sure on performance vs. the splitter)

I have a 2.0 due to arrive in the next week or 2, and will be installing the lowering caps, however, just driving around on the weekend will be scary due to the height from ground to bottom of the splitter.

I've seen those but they are half the size of the 2.0s. I'll wait till someone clones them and see what that gives.
    Thanks

I like that look and would love to see the lip up close. This set up will definitely give more ground clearance than the TA splitters, but I doubt it has the same aero affect. As far as the lowering caps and worrying about clearance you should know that cars can vary up to an inch in height from the factory from what we have measured so if yours comes in low to start then clearance will be very close, we have seen 3-1/8" splitter heights with caps all the way to 4+".

I have the canards from agency power and i love them. They are half the size of what the 2.0 has (literally had my car next to a 2.0 today) but i also assumed it would be better then nothing! and i really like the look they give. It was a no brainer for me at $400 for the set!

The canards are not really going to give you traditional down force as much as directing air over and around the front tires to help with turbulence and reduce overall lift. They look cool and will only help, but they are by no means the same as a correctly functioning splitter.

Unless your running at max speeds, you're not really going to upset the aero by either running the canards or not running them.

That's a great answer, and I'm also assuming that the angle has to be just right to flow the air over the wheels...

    Thanks,

My T/A is lowered about an inch in front. Haven't had any issues with T/A splitter even on track under heavy braking. Allan

I'd love to see some more pics of it, from side, front, etc - also what you think of the quality/weave/etc

The quality and weave look excellent. Nothing doubled up or out of line on the weave. The real truth will be once it's on the car and how well it fits and looks. As a test fit, it looked amesome!

As soon as I get it back, I will take several pics and show the ground clearance since I have the lowering caps installed as well.
